Just to the powered tonneaus in the Shop. I have no idea if those are the redesigned covers or just old ones that we’ve seen pop up from time to time the last few months.
I asked @OutofSpecKyle about the charging curve on the Dual Motor video, final results to be determined, but it sounds like a similar max speed and curve.
Value is subjective. On paper it doesn’t look great.
When towing, it’s the difference between shaving a few hundred miles off some trips and taking routes that wouldn’t be possible with the Large pack.
Rivian posted (instagram) the EPA numbers for Dual Motor Large and Max Packs:
Max Pack 21 inch = 410 Miles
Max Pack 22 inch = 380 Miles
Max Pack 20 inch = 355 miles
Large Pack 21 inch = 352 miles
Large Pack 22 inch = 341 miles
Large Pack 20 inch = 307 miiles

The team working on the billing software could be behind schedule, or the billing project got deprioritized for something else.
Rivian could be waiting to see what Electrify America is going to charge when the move away from...
This permit got posted yesterday and it was interesting that it had 2 chargers per bank rather than 3. Curious if this is site specific or if we will see more of this in the future.
Everything about the vegan dashboard was weird.
They announced it at a time they were behind on so many orders and needed fewer variants. Then it seems like they never fully had the path to production worked out.
Added the upgrade to see if I can move back up. Now 3 months of processing estimate, hopefully my truck comes before the next delivery window update.
Edit: Got an email clarifying I got pushed back because they can only deliver so many vehicles out of the new Boise service center (just opened).
I got pushed from October-December 2023 to February-March 2024.
Curious to see if the performance pack has an impact on delivery timing, I do not have the upgrade configured.
I doubt we see 425+, the R1S Max Pack being estimated at 390 is too weird of a number for them to be hiding a bunch of extra range.
I’d love to be wrong.
They will still provide the Max Pack delivery estimates like they always have. They won’t provide the pack size directly.
EPA will be above 400 on 21s and probably below on other tire choices. Rivian has been pretty accurate in the past on their estimations and where EPA comes in.
I doubt they ever announce the pack size, the website doesn’t mention it for the large pack either. You’ll get some YouTube tests.
Everything will be in miles with 390/400 revised to be more specific once they have the the EPA numbers.
We’ll find out at the end of August with updated delivery estimates, but I remain optimistic for a 2023 Max Pack release for the R1T. It was mentioned twice as a “this year” thing on the last earnings call.
I think we haven’t gotten details because they are working on the dual motor hype train...
Two Max Pack references on the earnings call today, both in reference to it coming later this year.
If it was delayed, I don’t think they would have referenced it, especially with a timeline. Optimistic the late 2023 estimates hold at the August delivery estimate refresh.
I’ve been configured for a pure range spec for years now to accommodate our towing needs. Max Pack, 21s, etc.
One new concern I have is the increased dual motor range is achieved with turning off one of the motors in All Purpose. In Tow Mode, both motors stay engaged the whole time. In the...
