All good reasons,, imo.
1. I've read that too, and saw an interview with OutofSpec & RivianTrackr that supported this idea, however, on Reddit there is some confusion and some implication that whomever RivianTrackr communicated with on Rivian's side may not have been 100% correct in asserting...
Maybe.
For my experience there is literally no difference between a normal Large and it being a Large+, that I can see.. I was DCFC last night and was discussing with my wife that there is so little to be gained by us at this moment by having the Large+, that it shouldn't even be listed as...
The jury is out for me. I'm taking it on faith that it is useful for oncoming traffic, but seeing the constant adjustments while I'm driving can be a bit distracting sometimes. It's definitely taking some getting used to. I'd love to see what it looks like to someone facing the lights.
I’ve owned two Teslas, but only one with hardware for their current FSD software. What, exactly, is the expectation here? Rivian’s Driver+ is better than my ex-Porsche’s InnoDrive, my wife’s Audi’s whatever-it-is, our old Toyota Sienna lane-keep, so I’m not feeling like i’m wanting for...
I definitely agree with this, but I'm trying to remember back when the Model Y was released. Seems to me there were a lot more Tesla service centers than there are Rivian SCs and the reviews of Rivian SCs are all over the map - even well-reviewed SCs are booking appointments 2 to 5 months down...
While I certainly get & sympathize with the behavior not acting as-documented - if there is a bug causing it to randomly reset itself, for example, I do believe Rivian is in a spot with regulations it has to adhere to. Even if the company were more conservative with their range estimates, they...
Hmm.. when I go to the configurator, for the R1T Dual Standard I see the differences you noted, but for Large and Max the All-Terrain tires are grayed out - unselectable - and All-Seasons aren’t even on the list, as they are for the Standard, so that could be skewing the reporting a bit. There...
When I took delivery of my Gen 2 Performance Dual, the Trip A/B said 0.18 mi/kwh. So clearly something during the early pre-delivery miles taxed the HV battery while adding few miles to the car. I never reset the Trip B - just left it, and it's taken quite a bit of miles to recover from that skew.
Hey I sure hope that happens! It's hard to complain about my last road trip's best charge. It drew about 200kw up to about 60% SOC and ~150kw to about 83%. It didn't dip below 100kw until 88%.
Thanks, Aaron. I'll do that next time. I've driven this trail with our side-by-side before and there are a lot of rocks that just poke right out of the ground. Since I don't have the underbody reinforcement I was a bit paranoid.
I don't believe that's possible given the 400v architecture. It would need to draw 700amps to get to 300. What I could see (or would like to see) is potentially adjusting the charging curve to allow higher charge rates for longer.
Thanks! I already liked the Red Canyon color anyway, but when we read the description for it being inspired by the red rocks of Utah, it seemed like a no-brainer for us since we travel there often.
Hi folks,
I took my first bigger trip in my now 10-day old 2025 R1S PDM Large+, and I came away from the trip much more impressed than I expected to be.
From Southern California to the mountains of Southern Utah, I went from flat, sub-urban & urban crawl to the wide-open I-15 up to Brian Head...
I'm right there with you. I hope I don't hijack your thread, but I just got the Gen 2 R1S Large and have been worried I should have sprung for the Max because my wife and I, and occasionally the kids, will road trip. We live in CA but have a vacation spot in UT so go there regularly. With our...
Just to confirm, my high 55XXX R1S also has the change. No cubbies here. It’s not too big a disappointment to me but my wife is disappointed by it. The service advisor delivering the car to us even told us “and you have these storage compartments in the 3rd row armrests,” but nope, I had already...
I’m picking up my PDM Large mid-55XXX tomorrow. I’m hoping I still get the 3rd row storage cubbies. Kicking myself for not spring for a Max, but hopefully I never miss it.
There's a trim below Adventure Trim? Pretty much every config I look at in the shop says "Adventure Trim" on it. I'm picking up my Gen 2 R1S Dual Performance Large tomorrow and the pictures in my account show hooks, but I'm not expecting them.
