I was in a similar quandry and decided to go with the quad. Here's my thread - might help:

My main reasons for quad+large over dual+max were:
- The additional HP is apparent (to...
Congratulations! Funny that I'll have the exact same combo (Model 3 + R1S) after I take delivery next weekend!
Please could you post pictures of the misalignment (so I know what to keep an eye out for)? Also, was there a delivery checklist that you followed?
I could've sworn there was a delivery post here with pretty pictures - did that get deleted? I was going to reply but typing on mobile is too tiring.
Did you pick up at the SJ service center? How was your experience?
I'm set up for next weekend, will post how it goes!
I'm in CA and am planning to get a sticker plate for the front to avoid the surround camera issue. I've heard that it can interfere with sensors if installed in the wrong place on a Tesla - is there a corresponding "right" or "wrong" place on the R1 (specifically the R1S)? i.e. are there any...
Wow that's really nicely done (the cuts). How did you mark out the locations?
Do let us know what you end up doing in the end. One of the selling point of these sliders was that they don't block the jack point (which is only necessary in case service is insistent on using it but still) so this...
Yup I decided to chance it and order anyway, and he called me immediately after and was pretty reasonable - he thinks it should last for a long time if it isn't getting scratched on rocks but there might be dings/chips from rocks that he said there was a spray I could use to patch (~$10). I'll...
lol fair enough. I only ask because I saw a pic of the prototypes which looked like they were in pretty bad shape with rust, but the claim was they were rattle can painted.
In my case I expect to use the sliders more as a step and a safety-net than for the actual sliding, so I don't expect them to get scratched up much. How does one tell how thick the powder coating is?
Looking forward to this - hard to gauge the complexity of the install without one.
One question - did you have to cut slots in the OEM plastic underbody side panels to accommodate the slider?
