I have a service appointment coming up in late January to address some brake noises and AC odor. The SC added the 12V battery replacement in the ticket. I never received any warning or calls from Rivian about the 12V before. Perhaps they’re proactively replacing some of them.
I noticed that as well. In winter I always set the vents to blow air from the windshield and the leg for all cars I’ve owned. It’s always set and forget. Last year the Rivian was fine. This winter, i need to manually turn on the lower vents every time I get into the car even though I’ve already...
She might be dumb to not know how to open the door with the manual release but she is definitely smart to contact the media and give a dramatic interview because there is no way she would get any monetary compensation from Rivian without the media spreading FUD.
She succeed in this regard. ?
Once they start working on your car, it’s not that bad. The key question is how long your car will sit there before anyone touches it.
I scheduled an appointment right before thanksgiving and the earliest availability was end of January.
I agree. And I DO see lags after I’ve pressed the button. Like the heated seat button in particular. Press once and no response. Press a few more times again and it actually registered all of my input so it goes a full cycle.. level 1,2,3,off.
Swipe to the car information tab from the nav...
Mine is just the typical brake noise.
Don’t mean to speculate but I remember there was a recall on a front suspension component a while back. Not sure if it was the improperly torqued screw recall back in 2022. Some owners reported hearing a noise and found out there was metal to metal rubbing.
Mine makes the noise when slowing down from about 50 mph and above. I hope Rivian is not gonna charge me for this because technically brakes are wearable items?
Thanks for the replies.
I turned off the blended braking and could tell that the noise is from the friction brake. The noise is only there when I apply a certain amount of pressure on the brake pedal. No noise if I brake harder or lighter. I’ll have the SC take a look at them.
Service appointment already made for end of January.
Gen 1 R1S LE. There has been what sounds like brake squeaking/squealing noise when the car slows down, even with just regen without me pressing on the brake pedal. Doesn’t matter if the weather is warm or cold. I thought letting off the...
I’ve been having this issue since 8000 miles or so. Most audible when I’m moving in a drive through. Sounds like something is engaging when I press the pedal. I tried accelerating VERY slowly. The clunk is still there but quieter.
I don’t want to take it to a SC because a lot of people are...
Same.
I most likely won’t go back to Toyota because welp, I won’t go back to non EV. BZ4X? That’s a joke.
We owned a few Toyotas because of their reliability. It was unbeatable 20 years ago.
