  1. R1T vs. R1S

Thanks, Brian. My R1S Tri replaced my much beloved 1990 Toyota 4Runner, which I had for 28 years and absolutely loved. It was completely gutless and pretty cramped, but I loved it. Solid V6 and 5-speed tranny, with all the bells and whistles. Took me everywhere. I am a devout (true) SUV man. On...
  2. Special RAN pricing for Rivians

My experience suggests that RAN usually doesn't even beat Tesla non-member pricing, which is fairly disappointing. I normally just charge my R1S at Tesla superchargers when on the road.
  3. Anyone Still Using RAN?

I'm with you. Tesla superchargers are usually cheaper, even for Rivian owners. Do better, Rivian!
  4. New Front Skid Plate for Rivian R1T & R1S by DCE Weistec

I definitely want one, but will be waiting. I got burned on your rock sliders. Paid 2k plus tax, and they now cost $1,700.
  5. How does Rivian do when removing rock sliders?

This is an important point. Actual rock sliders can support the weight of the vehicle and can be used as jack points, where running boards cannot.
  6. Rivian’s New Color Palette for 2026~

Agreed! I love Rivian and get that they want to "blend in with nature", but come on. To me their colors are generally muted and boring. I'd love to see some bright, bold options. Because I was so unimpressed with the choices, I ended up going with Glacier White.
  7. What'd you name / nickname your Rivian?

Any "Witcher" fans? Main character is Geralt of Rivia, which makes him a Rivian so I named mine "Geralt".
  8. 2025 R1S TriMax Ascend -- best car I've ever owned, except for the range.

I hear you. I have a Tri with all-terrain package. EPA estimate is 329, which I assumed would be in "all-purpose" mode. Nope. To get anywhere near that, it's "conserve" mode only. As you say, aside from that, great vehicle.
  9. Gen2 R1T Overall Vehicle Height

Thanks for that. Would be great if you could add "highest" and "kneel" specs. -jeff
  10. If you love your R1 (or other EV) the future will be what you make it.

My Gen 2 R1S is EV #6: 2 Fiat 500e's, 1 Chevy Spark, 2 Chevy Bolts. All previous were leases, bought the R1. Even with the extremely limited range of the Fiats and Spark, I was hooked on EVs since day 1 (back in 2013). Adventure on! -jeff
  11. Plastic Mold on Underside

Greetings. I have a Gen 2 R1S on which I recently installed a set of Weistec powder coated rock sliders. Plusses: EXTREMELY sturdy, looks like a factory install, easy installation, great customer service. Minus: Pricey Here's the link...
