Here's a higher quality photo of them in Palm Springs :
I like the tape hah. Good to see them pushing the vehicles. Also another thing that hasn't been talked about a lot yet is that these vehicles have charging ports on both sides (compare to pic 2 posts above). Hopefully that makes it into...
This article came up a little while ago, about the first(?) Model S to reach 1 million KM: https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-1-million-miles-video/
The reactions on that news in a few places (various forums, reddit) was interesting, and not quite the same as mine. Many people were saying...
Back on topic, check out the latest in the wild photos from Instagram!
Is that one of the rumoured electric jerry cans!? Or am I mistaken and this is some standard camera equipment? Looks like it has integrated, independent from the vehicle, cooling.
I see it as localized environmental impact versus global impact. Humans just existing will have an impact by taking up space and resources. It's a matter of being as smart and efficient about it so we don't ruin more than we have to.
This is interesting from the Rivian FB post:
Q: How are they charging the vehicles in these remote areas?
A: We worked with a variety of partners to install a grid where there are, generally speaking, two 40A level 2 chargers every roughly 100 miles. While we don’t need to charge every 100...
Maybe a minor request, but i don't want this to be overlooked: Auto-dimming side-view mirrors. My 4Runner has it for the rear-view mirror, but at night with people's poorly aimed lights behind me, the side view mirrors are blinding for me and I end up aiming them to the ground for long night...
Even though Rivian is making a vehicle that targets me exactly in outdoorsy/off-road use cases, I'm still VERY interested in what Tesla offers in terms of range and realistic pricing since it will I'm sure there's some customer overlap and this could affect Rivian.
Externally emitted sounds by EVs will be required by regulation in the US after Sept 2020 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_vehicle_warning_sounds#United_States
I don't think the regulation specifies what sound though ;) My request for a gag sound effect would be a coconut horse haha:
On...
Yeah, this is what I was thinking of. Though interesting, the capabilities where different on one side versus the other. The driver's side is only AC J1772, and the passenger is AC or DCFC (CCS) - https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/products/taycan/charging-18558.html
This configuration makes the...
Can I vote twice? :)
Both driver and passenger sides are useful, what if street side charging stations become more of a thing? Like this:
Font or rear, I don't care. Current design looks nice and hidden to me :like:
Crimson Black for @jimcgov3 :
Green (like the new Aston Martin Vantage):
And a yellow, which I'm not terribly happy with since in real life it would look more flat and less gold (IMO I'd want the whole truck the color/shade of the calipers). I figured I'd share anyways:
Oh interesting indeed! I wonder if that's to help better fit the 180 kWh battery option. At one point they were saying that option would slightly intrude into the gear tunnel. Maybe with the 2" extension this won't be necessary?
In this full clip of RJ's talk, at 4:30 there's a video played including new short clips of the development process on what looks is a closed testing facility + a bit later photos of the 2 test vehicles in South America, which I think we saw in Atlanta already. Would love it for Rivian to post...
I Googled "crimson black" and came up with pictures of Nissan Altimas from around 2010. You sure that's what you want? :P
Not all colors are as easy to do. For example the blue tends to show up at the edges for some more than others (maybe because of stuff like this...
