The refresh will have improvements that many customers will like and want. They aren’t talking about that because they need to sell existing stock. The new R1s will be better. If they aren’t, Rivian is done. They have to nail this refresh to remain viable.
Alexa is terrible. I don’t know how many times it tried to route me out of state for a destination 5 miles away. I don’t use navigation much, so I can get over this, but for my wife, this would be a showstopper.
The price drop will bring in some more revenue, but I don’t think it will be enough to help the stock all that much in the short term. Tesla is going to drop another 20-30% soon. It will probably drag Rivian down with it. Fisker going bankrupt won’t help either. Anybody who wants to average down...
I would wait for the refresh since it is not far off. It is going to be better overall. I doubt it will be better enough that current owners are going to be willing to upgrade immediately, but I suspect they will be a little jealous.
I hope that’s true. I’m just guessing that they will be saying that they wish they had bought it below $5. I think there will be more opportunities to average down. I really think Tesla should buy them. We would all benefit from that.
The stock is priced near cash value. As Rivian burns through the cash, the share price will go with it, absent other good news. I’m cheering for Rivian, but I’m sure not investing in it even at these prices.
The new Model 3 is very good. The seats are much nicer, the ride is fantastic, it is luxury quiet, and the software is still industry leading. I don’t think the interior overall is all that much improved, but it’s fine. I don’t lovingly caress my lower door trim plastics. If you do, it’s...
My son’s guitar teacher drives Uber for extra money. I told him he will be able to do that for a few more years max. I’m curious how much they will be able to fix in 12.4. I bet they will be able to do some major tuning in the next few releases, but it will get harder after that.
Absolutely. I think that is a great strategy. I still wouldn’t mind owning it, but not for what they are charging. It is mind blowing. It drove in the opposite lane multiple times yesterday to divert around road construction. It was very smooth and natural.
I haven’t driven an X, but I can’t imagine that it isn’t more nimble than an R1S. It handles really well for a truck, but it’s still 7000 pounds. No amount of good engineering can completely hide that.
The X is very efficient compared to the R1s, making it a superior long distance driver...
I don’t care too much about the new plug, as I imagine the adapters will work fine. I do care about all of the other improvements coming in the refresh. I think it’s going to be awesome. The refresh is one of the big reasons I sold.
