    Obviously, there are times I leave it at home, but generally speaking I have one with me or in the car. This isn’t a gun debate. I carry a firearm. The issue is where can I cable lock the safe in the car, preferably out of site. Perhaps someone found a solution.

    Kids can’t cut the cord or get into the safe, and it’s an added level of security since most thieves here are looking for easy stealing opportunities; they don’t have wire cutters handy. Drug users and panhandlers mostly. I wish I lived where you all do! Sounds much safer.

    That’s exactly my point. I’ll take it with me everywhere, including into a Walmart or whatever, it’s just that in certain things like the courthouse or the post office you can’t take it in, so I need it locked in the car. Again also if I go to the beach and places like that.

    First of all, the whole reason to keep it is for safety, is to have it with you when you need it, so leaving it at home doesn’t solve the problem. Second, what about my wallet? What about any other valuables that I’m taking with me? I could be at the beach, I could be doing some other activity...

    I have a gun safe that I put my firearm in as well as valuables when I’m perhaps at the beach or going into a location where a firearm is not permitted. It has a cable lock, but I can’t find any place to actually lock the cable in, somewhere in one of the cargo areas, that is permanently fixed...
