I love all the people here who made all kinds of judgements about me because I happened to mention what I drove before. I had a RR for 5 years and happily sold it for many of the same reasons you mention, particularly because every LR dealership is full of douchebags who do nothing but try to...
You could not have said it better!
For one, I never thought in a million years I thought this thread would get so many folks riled up. Was just trying to be helpful in sharing my own experience — the literal moral of the story was make sure to try it before buying. Full stop. I literally...
Love to hear from others that love theirs—and those are exactly the kind of reviews that had me so excited for so long! Pre-price hike and with the tax credit we may have given it another hard look. Not at $108k + tax out the door though…
Oh, speaking of software, I also forgot no SiriusXm and no CarPlay. It’s on cross-country 10 hour trips through the boonies where things like satellite radio are nice…do you *need* it, nope, but for a vehicle that purports to be able to do those things and take you to those places, it’s weird...
I 100% agree, but really it’s Rivian who missed out on a customer by not putting their best foot forward and bringing a car without an update that came out months ago….
it’s that lack of attention to detail for a new company, like making sure your customer knows you are going to meet some dude...
New X7 fully loaded out the door with upgraded B@O diamond sound system and dealer discounts and incentives will be about $99k. The R1S as I had optioned with Max battery pack and accessories was $108k…. Sure you can save 10k on the battery with the Rivian, but you can also get a still nicely...
I have not driven the R1T but have only heard great things about the ride quality, including C&D who I’m sorry to say did nail it when describing the R1S ride even though I didn’t want to believe it. Wife said no to the truck so was waiting for the R1S…
I had Meridian in the 2014 Range Rover...
Yup, it was definitely on the list, just a tad too small (we use every inch of the X7 cargo space in fully flat mode quite often and the R1S is about identical in interior space that way!).
Hopefully I can get a co-worker to take me for a drive in an R1T—if the wife would have approved of a...
I will still love seeing them and drooling over them in parking lots! Not to mention dreaming of that off-the-grid camping trip you can only get to in rock crawl mode! I’m sure I’ll have an R1S or EV equiv. in the future when they dial it in a bit more (Or cut the price in half), haha.
Clarity in the sound, having a vocal punch through the mix for example instead of everything kind of getting muddled together. It was loud and had good bass, but seemed a bit muddy. Take that with a grain of salt, it wasn’t bad by any means and is better than the stock Harman Kardon system in...
I really wasn’t in a bad mood at all from meeting in a park in a bad neighborhood and I didn’t care that the guy was young (he was actually super nice) so you are misreading that there. I was simply pointing out that it’s surprising that a big corporation would not strive to provide a better...
Well, I finally got my test drive this weekend and after waiting a long 18 months I'm sad to say the R1S simply didn't live up to my (or my wife's) expectations.
Granted, this is from the perspective of having driven a BMW X7 for 4 years now (and currently) and a full size Range Rover for 5...
