Nobody camps in their car except homeless people. Far more people will use the passenger side folding seat to occasionally carry lumber or other long items. They need to market this realistically for a wide audience. In the Marques Brownlee video, RJ starts to hit this idea more effectively...
Some data points that may offer insight into Rivian's current and future customer base:
1) Rivian's tweet on the R3 has more than double the number of views, triple the number of likes, as any of its other tweets today.
2) In our forum's reservation tracker, a majority of R1 owners who've...
I would have revealed R3 differently. It's for a different market.
I would have only teased it today by announcing a second reveal a week from today in Georgia or Florida.
Create a slightly different brand out east, where virtually no one is going to drive one of your vehicles further off...
RJ highlighted Adventure as Rivian's primary goal.
I think that has been a key selling point, to their credit. It helped the R1 platform take off the way it did.
I also fear it's a weakness if you're trying to reach a mass market.
If you look at the Tracking Sheet here, 25% of reservations...
I think some people are forgetting this is still a hand-assembled prototype. It's not just a matter of putting a bunch of auto-production machines in a line. They still have to design many of those machines, I'd bet.
>Mini Cooper
I like the design, but I have described the R1S as Mini Cooper's dad, and R2/3/X does look a bit like a family of Cooper big brothers and sisters.
I'm somewhat surprised that the stock didn't rise further. It seems to be leveling at $12 for now.
I think this is a home run. But you might say they're down more than a couple runs. To most investors, it probably seems easy to put together a prototype and a nice video, but they'll need proof...
Use a different browser than Firefox.
Or possibly, briefly turn off your ad blocker.
There's a direct link to the reservation page in the livestream thread, but that's now 16 pages and I can't tell you precisely where - maybe page 6 or so
I think some traders picked up stock to flip today, so as it goes up, some of them decide to take their profits. Also, most people weren't watching this. But I think as word spreads, this will bump the stock some more.
Also, a lot of investors who aren't necessarily Rivian boosters must be...
The R2 retractable rear window and R3 flipper glass are both major wins.
I saw the frunk go up and felt like it's too difficult - it made me miss the gear tunnel idea. But the access to the back feels very easy.
This is mostly ideology / religion. I happen to be a believer. But I'm not sure this is the best way to reach the full audience.
But maybe they know better than I the kind of people who would log in to the "reveal."
