Thanks to everyone for their input.
One question I asked, no one really touched on.
Does the pause negatively impact quality of materials and quality of the build of the vehicle?
Billy
If I do leases, it would be the first time ever to lease. I am really leaning toward buy now, just wondering if I should do it before the pause or after.
Billy
I have considered that, but have read a couple of stories about the pain of changing the ownership. That isn’t off the table though. Thanks for your thought.
I wanted to get the opinion of the collected wisdom here on the subject.
i have a demo scheduled on Tuesday for an R1T. I have been watching them for a while, but several things held me back. I am now pretty serious about getting one, but I am not sure about timing.
My preference is to lease...
I think the biggest hurdle for the R1 is the suggested MSRP of $80,000. I know there are a couple that meet that, so I am not sure why they can’t have the full credit.
Your story touches on my biggest question about the Rivian. When you have a significant downhill can you take your foot off the pedal and coast without the vehicle stopping? I used to drive a hybrid and had to drive a mountain in middle TN often. By the time I got to the top the battery was near...
I am in this same situation. I live in TN and would lease a Rivian right now, but it isn’t available to be leased here. I contacted the state and they are not the reason that Rivian doesn’t lease here.
What if there was a system like the Aldi grocery store uses for carts. You have to insert money (or credit card) to get the plug out and when you are done you get it back?
That would at least get the plug put back in the right place.
Good to hear the Franklin SC is a good one. I am looking at getting a truck when leasing starts in TN and I am about an hour south of that location.
Do you go up 65 from Birmingham? There were plans to put chargers at the exit for Cornersville, so maybe that will help some.
I searched a little for this, but wasn’t sure exactly what to search for. How much effort, how expensive would it be to take the current charging port out of the Rivian and replace it with an NACS port?
