I don’t blame anyone for being a little squirmy about having to charge at an EA stop on the way home from skiing.
Being down in San Diego my ski trips are all at least a long weekend and not park and ski day trips so I went with a hitch mounted ski/board carrier which I think will be good for...
It has a threaded pin that can be removed to allow it to tilt away from the vehicle enough to open the liftgate. I don’t think it would be feasible to sit on the liftgate as the rack doesn’t swing out of the way, maybe you could squeeze over off to the side but my whole crew just boots up on...
Looking around for a hitch rack for skis and boards I found this one from Tyger Auto. Just installed it and played around to get it set up for our next ski weekend. I had seen an R1S owner had posted a review of it somewhere so that is already out there but thought I would add a couple quick...
I have been using kneel mode since my first day of ownership (4 months) as I have a wee lady in the house. No issues to report. I do hope the air suspension is more robust than say the old Audi All-Roads from the early aughts. Also my experience is same as graymatter, my R1S seems to adjust...
In route planning when a route is proposed with various charging stops I would like to see options - like a drop down - so I could select a different first or second stop and see how that works. Like on a trip with three stops to charge if I change the last stop to something 30 miles further...
Bummer. Agreed with previous response the sensors on my R1S and our other car (an Audi) take a moment to start triggering audible alarms. I would guess the fella standing by your window may trigger that too so you may subconsciously assume that is the source if you didn’t look in the screen or...
Sorry I didn’t detail this out better. We did the following on the way up:
EA at Walmart on Main St in Hesperia
RAN at Olancha
RAN at Bishop
EA at Bridgeport
Charged once at RAN in Truckee while we were in Tahoe, and also once at an EvGo by the former Save Mart in Tahoe city (50kW) for a...
I have the exact same issue and it is also the right side popping up a bit, exactly as in your picture. I put in a service ticket for that and a couple other things. Funny thing is I had washed the car a handful of times before my first service appointment and either it hadn’t popped up like...
Had the same experience of most others so far along this route. RAN stops were easy and always spots open. The EA and EvGo stops were less reliable. R1S drove like a champ and the family and all our stuff fit in nicely and comfortably. Drove a mix of conserve and all purpose. The R1S...
I agree with the sentiment here that there is a mafia of folks in this forum that find a way to pile on anyone who shares their bad experience. The stupid “reliability” chart or whatever someone keeps posting is like a sad joke at this point.
It is not “normal” for a car to suddenly shut...
Thanks for all the replies. Good intel. I am going up Monday and will post back here midweek as to how it went. I like the idea of checking status in Victorville and making the call there.
The second leg of our trip is Mammoth to Tahoe and so I will charge up to at least 80% in Bishop on...
Inyokern is 223 miles from my house in SD. ABRP wants me to charge first in Hesperia but I think even with the various grades I should make Inyokern if I leave on a 100% charge. Anyone done this? Would be awesome to just stop 2X at Inyokern and Bishop. Probably someone will have to pee...
The highest I have paid is $0.66/kWh + $0.99/session fee. That was in San Diego at an EVgo (350kW) and overall looking at past charging sessions at various EVgo and ChargePoint stops around SoCal it has ranged from about $0.45/kWh up to that $0.66 mark. Session fees have ranged from $0 to $1.
Late to see this thread and glad you got it working. I never set up the “smart” feature on my grizzl-e and have been doing what you’re now doing - using it as a “dumb” charger and letting the R1 do all the scheduling. Works fine. I got the smart version b/c we were thinking we would use the...
Now that winter is approaching I am preparing for our first ski trip in the R1S in about a week. How are folks here transporting skis (and boards) inside the R1S? I am not looking for feedback on exterior options.
I am thinking I would put the middle part down in the second row and lay...
I wrote about my experience with the opposite - R1S thought a motorcycle was a car. Began to accelerate (ACC engaged) towards stopped traffic as the motorcycle was lane splitting.
I think these mistaken renderings are cute when you see them on the screen, but I agree 100% that these machines...
Grizzl-E Smart here, just got it installed works great so far as a “dumb” charger and going to try the Smart features when I get time on a weekend.
