Totally correct! Exactly how it played out for me :) I did switch to AP from conserve since I didn’t know what it meant and I was on a remote stretch of I-84 on my way to a tiny charging station. But never saw it turn orange again.
This is a behavior psychology problem. If you sell it you *will* get over the front end look as you drive around town and regret it immensely. If you keep it you will continue to obsess about the front end and be miserable. The only answer to your question is between your own ears :)
