I've used the Rivian portable charger for almost 3 years in a Nema 14-50 plug, but do not disconnect it ever so the contacts don't loosen. ( I have a second one in the truck) 32 amp constant draw on a Nema is probably the max I'll ever be comfortable with. It gets warm but never "can't hold...
They are in the permit stage, but a V3 Supercharger is supposed to be installed in Terlingua. Its a little iffy if it happens, but you see a lot of Teslas down there. I don't know how the grid there can support it.
I was told previously that Rivian is/was kicking the can down the road with these band-aid repairs to run out the time on the contract for their half-shaft supplier. (A service tech told me this). I’m hopeful that a new revised half-shaft is coming soon if not already being implemented. The...
My clunk is when the vehicle starts off from a decline or incline....on level surface hardly ever encounter it. To me the front motor is out of sync on the driver's side and new-ish half shaft splines already having wear again. Hasn't gotten worse so letting it be for now.
I agree with them all day on the suspension, before and after updates. #1 complaint about the vehicle. The update is maybe a 10% improvement, so I wouldn't expect them to change their view much.
I've been hearing, clicks, clunks, slop since forever. Replacing washers, half-shafts, regreasing...whatever...the noises always come back. Unfortunately. I've learned to live with it since it doesn't get any worse.
So many bugs, I called the Orkin man...but suspension feels a bit better. Just don't hit camp mode while in motion (accident), as it caused a soft reset and black screens while driving. Oops. Also noticed sound is kinda wonky depending on song using Amazon Music with Alexa. Alexa is also...
"Rug Pull Rivian"...official nickname for this company. Stop showing us stuff you have no intention of bringing to market...fold flat seats, accessory ports. Still butthurt about original camp kitchen in R1 as well. Ok, rant over.
Love Rivian, but probably trading R1T in for R2. Not a fan of the air suspension and my driveline has always been clunky, not smooth as some have said. (Launch Edition Quad)
I'm thinking vehicle has to be awake to use this feature. The thing I'm noticing is that I have to unlock all the doors occasionally just to get the port to unlock to remove the charger. Somewhat annoying when its just the driver door I need opened.
