This whole "anything but a Rivian-provided adapter can damage your vehicle" is BS. Really? So if a Ford EV owner lends me their adapter that's gonna damage the vehicle?
The Ford adapter and the Rivian adapter are 100% identical and both are manufactured by Tesla.
Unfortunately there does seem to be a good amount of March R1S's that have issues like this. Mine is in the shop with no diagnosis update or end in site...
That stinks and is a difficult decision. If you haven't signed the final notarized docs and the like, you could probably pretty easily get out of it. However, you'd probably lose your order deposit.
You could probably wait to sign final docs until you have the opportunity to inspect it. You...
Also a new R1S owner coming from a Tesla MYP (and Tesla MS before that). I agree that the range reliability of this thing is incredible. Compared to a Tesla, it's like magic. I've been road tripping this week and stomping up highway mountain inclines at 85+mph with high winds. Such behavior and...
Interesting...
When you say you had the "exact same error," would it also prevent you from shifting into gear and driving (as it does for me)? Or, was it just a pesky alarm that persisted, but you were still able to drive?
If it's the exact same as what I'm experiencing, your outcome is very...
@240vPlug , I agree and have been watching this. At least according to the interface graphic, this is occurring correctly. Only front motor is driving above ~ 20mph. Both motors are driving below. And, if I stomp on the accelerator both motors will drive until that hard acceleration is over at...
I picked up a R1S Dual Motor Sunday and mine is this loud too. I too was surprised by it and it's about 100000x louder than my previous Tesla Y or S, but it appears to be "normal." I kinda like it actually. It is the loudest at acceleration, regen, and around 35mph. It is pretty quiet and speed...
Picked up new R1S Dual Motor Max on Sunday. Left Monday for long road trip vacation. Absolutely love the vehicle. However, starting Monday I noticed a troubling issue. Whenever the car goes to sleep, upon re-entering and trying to drive it gives the following errors (in order):
It then will...
* Not a complaint *
** Observational only **
As a new R1S owner coming from a Model Y (and Model S before that), I was surprised how loud the R1S drive train was (I did not test drive one prior). It is noticeably louder to the point that at first I was worried I had a bad car.
Now that I've...
I wouldn't wait. I just picked up my R1S today. Rivian delivery person told me that not everyone is getting an adapter, because "many will never need one." We're going to have to go to the Rivian website and request them manually.
My "reading between the lines" is that the free adapter from...
I've been reading a lot of the healthy and fair criticisms of the value (or lack thereof) for the Max Pack. In the end, last week I still chose to purchase a shop R1S Max Pack (21" wheels for 400mi range) and take delivery soon.
I wanted to add my voice because I think I'm a new type of buyer...
Possibly for a period of time, yes. Although, there seems to be good partnering with at least Rivian and Tesla on this. There's no reason Rivian couldn't pass along the same nav information (eventually; probably not doing so now). Further, Tesla's are the vast, vast, vaaaassstttt majority of...
In the OP's defense, one of my favorite vehicles was a 2013 VW Touareg diesel. The Atlas is kinda like that in a general sense. However, I lost all faith in VW products after diesel gate. What a bunch of criminals (literally). I'll never reward those bastards with my money again.
There can be some lag, but a while ago Tesla also started predicting availability based on vehicles currently routing to a Supercharger (by navigation). The idea being, it's not useful to report 8/8 available if 10 cars arrive 3-5 minutes before you do. And, in the Tesla vehicle the charging...
