I am picking my R1S up on March 23rd. I asked my contact if I could get the NACS adapter then and he said no, and that "adapters will begin to be shipped starting in mid-April to all customers." I don't think delaying will help you.

Ahhhh, I see, thank you for noting this. I was thinking of the early days with some early Model S that could (if ordered with dual onboard chargers), but you're right w/o that odd configuration no other Tesla can handle that much either.

Thank you! Yes, I see that the one I linked can handle the rare Tesla HPWC (80amp). Was thinking might as well be safe as I have encountered some over the years at hotels and the like (without having to worry about manually reducing amp).

Just ordered my first R1S now that Rivian has access to NACS (coming from previous Tesla S & Y). Could I also use this adapter with my current garage Tesla wall charger or a Tesla destination charger (at a hotel)?
