That doesn’t answer the question at all. A 40mpg vehicle isn’t the EV you said they need to buy. Someone driving a $5000 20 year old Camry can’t afford a new one let alone an EV that typically costs more. Doubling their monthly fuel expenses isn’t going to help them save for a new vehicle.
