As others have said, the next couple of quarters could be pretty rough. I'm really interested to see Q3 numbers (which won't be out until maybe late October?). That will be a full quarter with the revamped line for the R1 products, and it will be a good check in point to see how the pivot to...
I have the A2Z CCS to Tesla adapter that I've been using for 18 months or so now. While I've used it maybe 8-10 times, it has been flawless. I'm not saying that it's impossible you'll have an issue, but my anecdotal experience is that it's a good product.
They might die if they run out of money before they can even get the R2 factory going, which is a real possibility without new cash.
Construction projects of that size don't get done in 12 months. They'll be lucky to have a complete factory by the end of 2025. And then they still have to tool...
This is an excellent point and should be #1 in my opinion. They've to to divert capex money into building a product a much larger group of people can afford, and NOW. Unless they're hiding some unknown source of private equity that's going to keep them afloat 18 months from now, I don't see...
My biggest issue is that it is inconsistent between updates and across audio sources.
When we first got our R1S, the volume was much greater than it is now. It's like they dialed back the amplifier. The system sounds pretty decent on FM radio (of all things), but muddier and quieter on Tidal...
They've been going in at a pace of 3-5 sites a day for the last several days. Will be interesting to see if this just continues indefinitely.
I wonder if they were just stockpiling magic docks all summer to roll them out at once.
1) NACS has no specified maximum current rating. Current is limited only by temperature. I'm less familiar with the CCS standard, but typically stations are limited to 500 amps.
2) NACS is rated to 1,000V, same as CCS.
3) NACS is compatible with ISO-15118 plug and charge.
4) NACS is...
They are already actively doing this. Press Release on NACS
They've released the engineering specification and state they are working with standards bodies to codify it as a public standard.
Again, NACS does not equal Tesla Supercharger. Tesla Superchargers just use NACS as a connector. You...
It's important to separate the NACS standard from Tesla Superchargers.
1) To me, it's a no brainer for Rivian to switch to NACS if Telsa will work with them to allow an adapter to work at Superchargers. Having used both CCS and NACS connectors, it's basically unquestionable to me that NACS is...
I'd be surprised if it really happens that fast, but it's certainly trending positively. They'd have 2 more years at this burn rate before cash ran out, and their quarterly losses should decrease as production ramps.
