No offense, but I own or have owned both these cars, and this sounds crazy! The Model Y is like riding on rocks compared to the R1S. Noise seems considerably better too (particularly low frequencies), though in fairness, we haven't done a long road trip with it yet.
As others have basically said, the difference between charging to 70 vs 85 or discharging to 30 vs 20 is pretty negligible. Getting up above 90-95% or below 10% and leaving it there for extended periods is what causes problems.
I've often thought that Rivian is burning through cash too quickly on that second plant. That said, they need to produce lower cost vehicles to scale, so it's a bit of chicken or the egg situation. Perhaps they should have tried to start R2 production in Normal instead of starting from...
I can't compare the two, as I've never heard the Meridian system. However, as I posted earlier in this thread, the new system sounds very good. The mid and high range frequencies are very crisp. The low frequencies could be a bit punchier and tight, but I expect a lot of that has to do with...
I got the new system, unbeknownst to me, on an R1S delivery this weekend. It sounds very good. I would not sweat it if you're worried about it.
Mids and highs are very crisp. The sub could be a little punchier, but that's mostly personal taste. You can notch up the low frequencies in the EQ to...
Just a quick heads up that we also got our eight steps email a few days ago. We also got to do the first mile drive in Atlanta.
Pretty excited! We also have the ocean coast interior, so I can confirm they are finally getting made.
Yeah, it probably doesn't make a huge difference, but it certainly doesn't hurt to keep it topped off to 70%.
You might let it go down lower and sit every once in a while to let the BMS calibrate. Range estimates on EVs can get a little off if you're always staying in the same % range.
I don't have a Rivian yet, so I'm relying on my Tesla experience. It's possible that is noise from the inverter. Typically they have seals that limit the high frequency pitches. You may ask if they can check to ensure any seals are appropriately installed.
We have OC interior on R1S. Based on source code looks like May-June 2023. We were previously processing estimate but had received a 1st half 2023 a long while back. So, still on the original track.
