A few things tipped me over.
1. I wanted a luxury SUV. Comfort was a priority. Ride quality of the R1S seemed like a second thought. Wind noise also.
2. Basic issues such as poor alignment (I followed a new production R1S the other day and the rear camber was FUbAR).
3. Constant software...
I am hoping they will pass on the 7k savings via lease (which will likely be less after all the associated lease fees). Alas, thatās better than nothing. I doubt dealers will budge much. In July, they are rolling out iDrive8.5 with an updated GPU. Iām going to hold until then to order and hoping...
Thanks! Now I see you said iX. We already have a full EV and are looking for plug in. Charging infrastructure is annoying for non-Tesla. Good to know about the changes to ā24
I canceled reservation. Delivery ETA was 2H 2024. No way to easily transfer it without headache or forcing me to risk buying it up front. Given the woes expressed consistently on this forum, Iām OK with the lost opportunity. Sorry folks, that I couldnāt transfer it.
Thatās what Iām looking at as well. Was he able to qualify for lease credit of $7,500? Itās mixed whether BMW is passing that credit on to consumers. Given they increased price by $7k over the 45e, I would sure hope so!
Iām going to bow out of my reservation and move forward with a plug in X5. I finally saw a R1S in person and while I think itās a great product for adventures, I donāt want to take on the early adopter risk.
Is there a way I can give my pre-order to someone else to take advantage of? Not...
Beware of how you calculate degradation. BMS can be off by a few percent. Additionally, my total range shows way less in winter than it does in summer as it naturally accounts for weather impacts. If youāre not checking this with Tesla diagnostics, your numbers could easily swing 5-7% which...
I love the sporty handling of the Y. However, itās not luxury smooth on crappy roads. This has me looking at the X5 50e. 40 miles of EV range and similar speed to LR MY. A nice balance. Better value than R1S in terms of Luxe and cost.
My concern on Mazda is the lack of luxury internally as well as inherent road noise with that brand. However, I will be looking into this as an option.
Iād love a Defender 110 but convincing the wife to buy a gas guzzling British car is going to be impossible. With EV or PHEV, I can...
Add in that stupid vampire drain and it is definitely expensive. Our rates are close to that in the Bay Area as well. Model Y is still have the cost of our ICE car but a R1 is half as efficient and likely cost the same as ICE. The convenience factor is no gas station stops for day to day use...
I rarely use or rely on parking sensors of Tesla MY. The key is to back into tight spots. The sensors would always tell me to stop and I still had 6ā or so to maneuver. Iām privileged in that Iām tall and have great eye sight.
Wasnāt this expected? They cut vehicle prices by 20% their margins would cut by 20%. However, If they remain PROFITABLE while operating, it should be a win. With goals to roll out more vehicles in future, they should do fine. What is needed is the Cybertruck to hit the ground. Iām waiting for...
Your view is objective and on point. Rivian is niche, as mentioned before, and has a cool factor. However, reliability, consistency, and quality lack. Spare wheel delivered in wrong color? Paint drops and scratches? Constant failures in air manifolds and motors? Doesnāt seem like itās ready for...
