I ordered and received the Covercraft sunshade that was listed to fit the 2021-2024 models for my 2025 and it fit fine. It's a little tight and not quite as nice of a fit as in other vehicles, but I think this has more to do with their template and not due to any differences from Gen 1 to Gen 2...
In 1997 Apple was a hair away from bankruptcy with lackluster products, increased competition, and poor leadership. It took some tough decisions, a visionary, and luck to turn successful again. That of course is oversimplified, but there are a lot of parallels with Rivian in its current state...
You are not 100% wrong, but Apple has weathered many storms, and thanks in part to their mastery of the supply chain, my stock has done alright since I bought in 1997. We will see how my Rivian stock compares in 27 years.
I would hope that they have pursued the help of a master in supply chain dynamics like Tim Cook and his team or someone similar to navigate this, and paid dearly for the advice. This seems like a very careless mistake based on the extremely limited public info we have access to. Come on Rivian...
I predict it will be offered slightly above the $5,000 price, along with a $250 “activation fee” to generate more profit and to help encourage new buyers get it with their initial order rather than waiting.
I also think they might offer periodic end of quarter upgrade deals that could knock off...
I really like the rigid folding reflective Covercraft sunshades for my vehicles, but they say the shade for the 2021-2024 does not fit the 2025 models. I think they probably have just not updated their database to include the 2025, but can anyone confirm there is no difference in regards to rear...
This is exactly the strategy that we are using in San Diego on a grandfathered net-metering plan with the original installation in 2012. Two years ago we added a NeoVolta battery, which is LFP rather than lithium ion, and is more robust in terms of daily discharge cycles. Safer too. We switched...
I went through this several years ago on our 2 year old Subaru Outback. My wife got hit and the vehicle had over $17,000 in damages and took over 2 months to fix. My insurance (21st Century, which I believe is associated with State Farm) did not want to do anything with pursuing diminished...
So sorry to hear about this and sincerely hope you are ok. Did any airbags go off?
Good luck with everything going forward, including the upcoming baby news.
Cheers-

You can read about my delivery experience in San Diego last week here , and please feel free to ask any questions or let me know if you'd like to check it out sometime in Encinitas...
Hi @newbilization and congrats OP! I just picked up my Gen 2 last Thursday. Guides initially said yes on pre-March accessory pricing, then said no prior to delivery. I pushed it a bit and they said to go ahead and order my accessories (mats & crossbars) and they would cut a check for the...
Update: Picked up the R1S last Thursday! Brought the checklist on a clipboard and spent my time going over everything. The vehicle was great, and my delivery contact was very nice and patient. The only snags were the expected wireless charger that did not work, and the spare was not available...
@Spamthechan & @Kylechoffman ,
Great to hear about the positive delivery and service experiences in San Diego! Looking forward to share my good experience as well! Thanks!
Some minor updates from my mysterious guide salesperson service center delivery contact:
Rivian will not offer me the ability to test drive the actual vehicle on order before accepting ownership. While this may be the new policy, I am going to ask anyway.
They will not honor the pre-march...
Wheel styling and feel is very subjective, and everyone needs to get what's best for their preference, budget, and situation. Personally, in my case, I wanted 20" for the potential future tire selection and snow/off road capability. Of the stock choices, I was only interested in the 20"...
@dradam - Great name! I'm an Adam too, and also with a LA Silver incoming. I'm a biologist, not a doctor though, but what a coincidence!
@Electrified Outdoors - Yes, thanks! I'm definitely using the checklist! I'm not sure if they will let me test drive the actual vehicle before I accept...
Greetings, my pre-March/voucher Gen 2 Max Dual R1S has come in and I will hopefully picking it up at the San Diego SC next week. I had previously demo driven a Gen 1 Dual Performance R1S earlier in the summer, and demo'd a Gen 2 at the new downtown waterfront San Diego space just this morning. I...
