This is a real bummer. Stuff like this is super annoying to see, cars shouldn't be getting sold with bad alignment. Super basic stuff.
Software issues, battery problems, etc.. are one thing but basically assembly and QC mishaps are ugly to see.
Don't leave your car at 100% charge for prolonged periods, or charge to 100% every day, but charging to 100% before a daytrip is fine.
That's it. Anything else is just going further than you need to.
There are certainly ways to baby a battery but it's a car. The battery has a warranty. Don't...
These poll results are rough. While yes, generally polls like this lean heavily towards problems (people without problems generally don't respond) plenty, if not most, of these responses are from people that have been members here BEFORE they got their R1T.
We're talking people that have been...
I swapped my BM to the new OC. My guide doesn't believe it will cause a delay any longer, but has promised to keep a close eye and alert me if he thinks it is delaying my order at all.
To be clear, I'm certainly not giving tax advice and I'm just passing along what he's said. It's certainly possible his opinion will change between now and people receiving a Rivian & actually filing taxes in this situation, but he is aware of what you've posted and it doesn't change his opinion...
We can't legally buy a Rivian in WA.. so we're buying our Rivian in Illinois. So we should be fine, as Illinois law on binding contracts is well within the scope to claim the credit. Loopholes are nice. (Rivian is handling all of that, nothing special we need to do.)
I'm not doubting what you heard! Just know that sometimes 95% of people at a company agree on something and then last minute the one person that has to approve it changes their mind.
I'm down for BM wood in OC, I'd immediately switch my BM over to it.
Hey, don't call my brother my friend.
For reference, he looked even more into it today, including what Rivian sent (he is also a preorder holder) and he remains confident it's sufficient for most to claim the credit. He would/will claim it and advise clients to as well.
I do enjoy when he's...
I like the BM wood better with the OC fabric, personally. It's a bit too loud with the FE wood, IMO.
If they're only going to pick one, the BM is definitely the safer choice. White cloth with black trim is a super standard car interior.
We're putting a lot of faith into what one person at a service center said.
It's something we've speculated at before and certainly possible, but let's wait for official word.
I'd prefer the lighter wood, but only if it looks high quality. The wood in the BM is great and was easily the...
So, if you're just using it for around town it doesn't matter.. but why are you buying a Rivian for using around town? It's marketed specifically as an adventure vehicle.
Otherwise, range & charging speed are the most important things in an EV.
There are two really important aspects of range...
My above post is from a very well recognized CPA who owns his own (very successful) firm.
IRS guidance means nothing. What matters is what your state of purchase says regarding a binding contract. IRS can issue guidance but they don't get to actually decide.
Depending on Rivians method it's...
