A temporary fix that worked for me; hold the tailgate closed and press the button (and keep holding closed). This cycles the latch and may cause the notification to go away until the next time you open your tailgate.
My SC said that the latches were over torqued at the factory, so they replaced...
Hey everyone. I realize this is tangentially related, but I'm sure there's a lot of us in the same boat because of the 2022 amended return process for Rivian.
I submitted my amendment beginning of October. My federal is still processing, and I hear from people that it could be another 4-8 weeks...
Not sure if the timing is different for leases, but for my loan the first payment was due 45 days after taking delivery. I received an e-mail to create my chase account 2 weeks after delivery. Given the holidays, I'd say you're on the upper bound of reasonable timing for getting your invite...
I've noticed 1PD with Regen Brake Assist is significantly stronger than when it's off. For me it's because of the cold, as you've said. I'm perfectly happy accounting for that manually, and not touching my brake pads.
Yeah actually, our second vehicle is a Kia Niro EV. The paddles are actually really nice to use in it (although technically only one of the 4 settings is 1PD). Agreed that it couldn't really be incorporated into the stalks of knobs. That's why I was thinking perhaps putting an easy toggle right...
I'm super excited to have Regen Brake Assist!
One thing I've immediately realized about it is that I'm super happy to have it off while I'm driving around town; nothing I do at/under 35 MPH is going to trigger a regen limit, so I can adapt to the regen power on each drive and save my brakes...
I find that if I need to accelerate while at speed on the freeway, the rear motor engages by the time the accelerator is halfway to the floor. I don't even have the performance DM, and it's extremely responsive. No lag at all, although there is a noticeable sensation when the rear motor engages.
YMMV indeed. That's how it was my whole drive back from my service appt, and there wasn't any improvement. It was just blasting cold air until I got to a fast charger. The truck even preconditioned for 30 min before the charge, and that didn't help at all.
Update: I just got the truck back from a service appointment for other things, and I asked them to look at this too. Here's their official note on the issue:
Concern: Customer states that temp has to be increased to over 80degrees to get the cabin comfortable at 70 degrees.
Cause: Software...
Just got done renting a Mach-E while my truck was in the service center. I was surprised at how competitive its cruise control was to Driver+. Dare I say, even better overall?
Here are some things Rivian needs to take note of:
Cameras detect speed limit and automatically adjust speed
Speeding...
I got my DM beginning of October. Accumulated a small laundry list of non-crucial issues. Nothing seemingly specific to DM. All issues have been fixed with a single service appointment.
Day 2 of ownership, I was showing off the truck to family, locking and unlocking the car from my phone while...
TLDW
Rivian good, driver good
Cybertruck ok, driver bad
Lightning ok, driver good
Seems about what you'd expect. A bit longwinded of a video, but lots of juicy details for an overlanding layman.
So, imagine a scenario where your following a car down a mountain. Constant blind curves, no passing lane for miles, you're stuck behind this guy. Regenerative braking just became 80% limited (only 20% available).
Your options are;
1. Accelerate into them and crash
2. Ride the brakes manually...
I think you "turned up to 11" a misperceived tone from my comment. To be clear, I'm in no way trying to imply that the lack of blended brakes during limited regen is a sign of company failure, incompetence, or non-competitiveness. The lack of the feature is manageable, just unnerving. Especially...
What I don't get is why they don't blend the friction brakes to simulate regen when normal regen is limited. Genuine safety concern when I barrel down a hill and all of a sudden I ACCELERATE towards the car in front of me. The first time that happened, it was unnerving. They normally hide the...
I think the delivery docs you sign say that you understand the odometer could be up to 100 miles. Mine was 92 miles, although my specific R1T was shifted between a couple different service centers (and presumably to/from a couple of storage lots/dealers) before delivery. I specifically requested...
?
Neither actually. I had full control of the vehicle and attention of the road, and I wasn't paying attention to what my phone was recording at all.
The careening was from an expectation that Driver+ would pull me into the middle of the new lane. It was at that precise moment that I learned...
