Got mine installed 3 weeks ago when they came out for mobile service, just added it to an existing ticket.
Not sure about the pricing but I got charged $398 for it. Well worth the piece of mind, IMO.
Tech forgot to install the new payload sticker, so I guess I have the world's highest...
I would go A. 180 miles 1-way is not a problem for the quad large, and longer drives than that will be rare, like you mentioned.
Longer warranty and better performance and looks should be the deciding factor here. Range benefits would be rarely used with the max.
Will be interested to see, once this releases, what the "break even" is for pre-conditioning. Meaning, how far do you have to drive at higher efficiency, before it saves enough energy to overcome the amount used to pre-condition. Lots of factors (ambient temp, etc) , but my guess is probably...
I believe you need to go over 5mph (maybe 8 or 10) for the camera to turn off in drive. My camera stays on when backing out of the driveway and shifting into d until I get going a bit faster.
Nissan does it too.
How is everyone able to track their phanton drain? The Rivian app doesn't share much info that would show that. If I leave the car plugged in, where would I see how much energy was "lost," outside of the stuff used to charge to the set limit?
Not using scheduled charging. Plugged in when it's in the garage, that's all.
That could be possible. It was low 30s two days ago and today was mid 40s.
R1S hasn't been driven in a couple days, and when I hopped in today, it had a 73% charge. I also noticed the other day it had a 71% charge.
The weird part is, my charge limit is set to 70%.
It's kept in an attached, closed, but unheated garage. Temps have been in the 30s lately.
Plugged...
After having our R1S for a bit over a month, I have found we very rarely drop below 40%, with the charging limit set to 70%. I know Rivian says 70% is fine for battery health, but are there gains in the margins to maybe drop the charging limit down to 60%, or even 55%?
My only concern would be...
For anyone with little kids like me, the Gary plush is back in stock in the gear store. I've been watching for months and this is the first time I have seen it in stock since probably June.

So then I create an account for just the Rivian, and can't carry over my place if I'm in the middle of a podcast, and lose all my saved likes, etc. Or I have to sign into my account every time I get in the car. Crazy.
Not liking Spotify at all after this, but Bluetooth quality is terrible...
I was hoping that wasn't the case, but figured it would be.
So every time either of us drives in Rivian, we would need to sign out of the current account and log into ours? That seems ridiculous.
I am currently sitting in my other car, listening to Spotify via Bluetooth away from home. My wife just got into the R1 and started running errands.
My phone stops playing, and the Spotify app shows "Playing on R1S." I can switch back to my phone, but if she's changing to a song, it stops my...
Is there any reason for the changing speed shown in this screenshot? Just came home and plugged into my Rivian charger, running at 40a, and I'm getting this odd ramping shown. Is it an app bug, or something else?
Had my R1S for just over two weeks now, and typically, the memory seats work fine. In park, foot on the brake, seat starts to move to my position. But occasionally, it doesn't move, or doesn't complete the full movement. Typically, the seat back doesn't move, since that's the last part the...
I've been doing some research on a DIY tire rotation, as it's something I prefer to do myself. I've always done a Rearward Cross, LR to LF, LF to RR, RR to RF, and RF to LR.
Is this something that is feasible to do with two bottle jacks? Lift LR and LF, move LR to LF, lower LF, lift RR...
Is it possible to set how high the liftgate opens? Mine stops basically just above my head height, making me feel like I need to duck. I have tested the range of motion, and there is a good 4-5" more it could go up, but it stops here every time.
I searched the owners manual and found nothing...
