  1. 370 mile sub zero Northern Wisconsin trip

I do use ZEF. Not bad in a pinch but 50kw is still slow if you’re in a hurry. However you’re right, Wisconsin is getting much better. Kwik trip is starting to implement chargers and I hear they are putting them near Amery and St Croix falls. Hayward is VERY in the middle of a charging dead zone...
  2. 370 mile sub zero Northern Wisconsin trip

I got the 21s with the aero covers. Original Pirelli tires. I typically ran between 2.25 and 2.4 before it got so cold, I think the climate control does a good number on the efficiency, I never saw above 2mi/kw until I got off the highway and did some country road driving. Average speed of 72-74mph.
  3. 370 mile sub zero Northern Wisconsin trip

    Their hasbrowns are soooo good!!!
  4. 370 mile sub zero Northern Wisconsin trip

Thought I’d post my experience driving from Chicago to my In laws house in Northwest Wisconsin. They live in an area with very little charging infrastructure so planning the trip is very key. We left the suburbs around 5am at 95% battery on the 2024 gen 1 R1T dual motor large pack. Temperatures...
  5. Brutal Vampire Drain

Dang man, that's not good. I live 15 mins from O'Hare and often think about charging half of what O'Hare would for long term parking and I would just top off peoples rivians. Worst case scenario I'd help you out. But 10% a day is unacceptable. I know it's cold out but it shouldn't be that high.
  6. Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

I got the Grizzl-e Avalanche edition just a couple feet from my sub panel. Worked out really well. I wanted just a simple dumb charger that was white that goes with the everything else in the garage. However def jealous of some of your set ups. That Rivian charger does look awfully nice.
  7. Wall charger vs. 14-50 plug in.

Funny enough, I used the portable charger for a while and my issue came when I went on a road trip and forgot my portable at home. Totally my fault but I got a Wall charger literally so I would not forget my portable one when I needed it. That was my reason, which could be dumb for some people...
  8. Campaign for more temperature flexibility in Pet Comfort mode

This thread aged well. New update lowers the temp to 63 in dog mode. Looks like someone listened!
  9. Great Lakes Adventure! Towing for over 5000 miles

I did notice that DC fast charging pricing is all over the place. Which state or area did you see the best charging rates, and which had the worse? I live in Illinois and go up through Wisconsin often, and the EA station still charge by the min. If you can get cranking between 150kw and 200kw...
  10. Does the RIVIAN Chicago delivery center sell the Cargo Cross Bars?

I was told by the Rush Street showroom downtown that they generally carry them. Best to call to make sure but the service center might not have them.
  11. Minnesota FS 21" Road wheel and tire. 1 still available. $500.

Pm sent. I will be up in your neck of the woods this week. Looking for a spare tire.
  12. Minnesota FS 21" Road wheel and tire. 1 still available. $500.

Do you still have any of these left?
  13. Michigan (PENDING SALE) FS individual 21" OEM wheels and tires for full size spare $330 each 8/32" thread left

Im playing with this idea. Im in chicago area and would plan a day to run out there and grab one.
  14. Other EVs ruin my trips

It is like a 10 min difference in ideal conditions. In the whole scheme of things it really isn't a huge difference. As long as no one else is at the station then IDC about being at a faster charger, but I def would probably move out of a 350kw stall if a ionic 5 showed up and my charging was...
  15. Other EVs ruin my trips

Well this is good to know! I feel like charging infrastructure is just going to get better and in a few years most of my complains will be definitely in the past.
  16. Other EVs ruin my trips

Haha love it! Dang Rivian in the 150kw station went to 75% like a fool!!! Honestly I'm not really mad at other drivers. I feel like most people still get range anxiety with the vehicles and I can totally see why they feel like charging up more then I would go is making them feel more secure. I...
  17. Other EVs ruin my trips

Small rant but I'm curious if I just have bad luck. Right now, any trips I take long distance, I am at the mercy of EA DCFC. The 2 stations I've been using only have 4 stalls available. Everytime I arrive, there is ALWAYS a Chevy bolt, a Mach E, or ID4 charging at the 350kw fast charger, leaving...
  18. First Wisconsin (Sun Prairie) RAN charging station site now open

Perfect. I'm in northern Wisconsin this weekend heading home Sunday. Definitely gonna hit this up on the way home to Chicago area!
