It wakes up to charge the 12v battery, which is used to run the main electronic systems. Has to recharge it every few hours. The 12v system is honestly the biggest flaw with the Rivian.
2023 quad large here, I don't get the best range but I agree with the bladders over batteries argument. Even with only 300 miles (in conserve) I can still drive longer than my wife can hold it. So we plan a fast charging stop with a bathroom every two hours and that works well. By the time we've...
I would really love to load all my MP3s on a flash drive and play them over the car speakers. Seems like it should be easy to do with data USB ports already configured for the road cam.
I don't use Sirius XM, I saw it got added in the latest update and was looking into it. I could see the use case if it had coverage that the LTE based system did not but I'm struggling to find the value in it. This post is a PSA and also me being curious about it.
I didn't care about this when...
I was really surprised about this. I thought the whole point of XM radio was getting music when out of cell coverage. Now with it on LTE it's not really any more reliable than using Spotify.
And it also requires connect + to use.
Yep it's a 2023 Gen 1. It's sleeping twice as much since the update which is unexpected but awesome. I tried some bumpier bumps this afternoon and it does seem a little less... bumpy too.
I haven't noticed a big change to the suspension, but I didn't have any complaints before and don't hit a lot of speed bumps in my day to day. The biggest change I've noticed is that the truck sleeps way longer now and wakes up much less frequently. Last night my phantom drain was HALF what it...

There is a Tesla in Evansville, WY, but yeah I hear you it's pretty empty up there. The best way to Montana from Colorado is to take I80 across to Salt Lake then go up I15. Lots of chargers that way. But it's a longer trip too!
Updated my Gen 1 R1S last night... everything seems good. Infotainment is snappy, faster than before, nothing logged out or anything. Did a soft reset just in case but it all seems to just work. Maybe I'm the lucky one this time!
That does help! Sounds like I could make some changes (turn off bluetooth, prox unlock for one) that could help.
I tried the battery charger a lot of people use for the 12v and that does seem to bring the phantom drain down to almost nothing, meaning it's likely just the 12v charging costing...
Apple is bad, m'kay. @moosetags is right, Samsung or bust. Once they get it on the real smartwatches (Samsung Ultra gang!) I would love to use this feature.
