  1. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

This interview was insightful, thanks for the link @cjones1130. There is no way you can argue this wasn't a big mistake on Rivian's part, and that they will lose some goodwill among customers, and possibly lose some customers altogether over this. That's just life, mistakes have consequences...
  2. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

I agree with this mostly. I would also add that Rivian has an opportunity to learn, make improvements, and communicate those improvements to the community. All of these are strictly positive outcomes, and is a chance for Rivian to show what type of organization they are. EDIT: I should add that...
  3. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

I've been thinking about how everyone is feeling after this update debacle including me (and it is a debacle, no way to sugar coat it). One thing that occurs to me is that we have a lot of OTA updates in our lives today. From TVs to phones to laptops to thermostats to etc. And my general...
  4. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Do they have an automatic way of knowing which VINs tried the update and failed? I talked to customer service last night but didn't specifically ask them to log my VIN, but maybe they did anyway. What are others doing?
  5. PSA: PAAK works great from the Tonneau Cover!

Feels like they could make some smart software to ding a reminder if the bed camera detects an object on the edge of the bed or on top of a cover (and there should be a way for you to easily dismiss the message as well for the cases where the bed is just loaded that way on purpose).
  6. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

I was able to start the climate system from my phone app, in case that works for you too, and is helpful.
  7. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

I just talked to customer service. As previous poster said, I was told to leave the car unplugged, no seat belts, don’t sit in the car, connected to Wi-Fi, and don’t try to check it from the phone, so the car can go to sleep. They indicated if car is in that state, it will automatically get an...
  8. seeking T slot hardware for Rivian crossbars

These could work too. Not sure how strong they are compared to the Yakima ones, or what you are trying to use them for, so you may want to double check: https://c6outdoor.com/collections/tent-mounting/products/yakima-rhino-rack-transport-mount-kit-by-c6-outdoor BTW, that hardware is meant for...
  9. Rivian crashes into Hollywood restaurant [update: driven by Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Alan Ruck]

I think a good compromise is to do both. For a change like this they could both keep the default behavior the same, AND make you scroll through the changes so you know the option exists. They could actually prompt you at some point when you are trying to change out of park, to choose whether or...
  10. Advice for winter tires?

I ended up canceling my order for the Radius wheels due to the delays and ordered the R800s from EV Sportline. They are more expensive for sure, but I like having the option for bronze anyway, and when I ordered you could use the SPOOKY10 code to get 10% off, it might still be valid. Which that...
  11. Advice for winter tires?

That is correct. See below from https://tiresize.com/comparison/.
  12. Will I be the only Rivian in New England?

I just got that same exact config, post-price hike, and after submitting for a rebate it was rejected because it was over the 80K cap. The sad part is that I had a R1S pre-order from 2021 and at the last minute decided I really wanted the truck because my wife purchased a minivan which would...
  13. 11/3 Manual Tonneau Cover Update

Late Sep '23 deliver, cover will ship in early Jan '24.
  14. Rivian App 2.4.0 available

Thanks that’s interesting. We’re just hitting below freezing temps this week so I guess I have that icon in my near future too….
  15. Rivian App 2.4.0 available

@Dark-Fx: what is the thermometer icon at the top of the app screen indicate? I’ve never seen that before myself…
  16. Compiled payload ratings for R1T (GVWR, GAWR, Payload Stickers)

Payload is 1792 lbs for a Dual Motor R1T Large Pack, 21" stock tires, no spare, no tonneau, no skid plate. I didn't see this in the table in the original message, so thought I would contribute the info.
  17. Advice for winter tires?

Those are very well priced! On the link I included to the evsportsline site, I realized afterwards there is a pulldown option for aftermarket sensors, which are cheaper ($240/4 instead of $380/4 for the OEM ones), and ended up ordering the aftermarket ones. Still twice as expensive as these on...
  18. Advice for winter tires?

In case someone is looking for 275/60R20 winter tires on these 20" wheels to replace the 21" stock setup, I had a hard time finding winter tires that were in stock and had the proper load ratings (assuming that is important). The only non-studded ones I found online that had the correct load...
