  1. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

Interesting perspective. Insane, but interesting. I assume you still use leaded gas, asbestos and smoke? Oh, wait, now that it is well known they are dangerous, they aren’t used and/or are discouraged. Odd that. And if there was a thread on Marlboroforums.com, you’d be on there saying ā€œthe...
  2. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

Why? Once it is actually FSD, it will be simple. Problem is, it is not FSD. Not even close. That’s the entire rub. People keep talking about how much safer ā€œitā€ is, but ā€œitā€ is just a drivers aid like any other level 2 system (perhaps better/more advanced, but not ā€œself drivingā€). So when people...

There are no unsupervised Robotaxis. First, there are barely any robotaxis at all (300 may be the number of cars, but it surely isn’t the number of actively in service cars). Second, they all have safety drivers (San Fran) or safety passengers (Austin). The ā€œunsupervisedā€ ones you are referring...
  4. Purchasing advice - Gen 1 vs Gen 2

Is it a Rivian Blue? I traded mine in a month ago (for a Gen 2) and am hoping it is finding a new home. I actually have no idea when in 2023 is was built. Iā€˜d say 2023 is a bit hit or miss, but I looooooooved mine and had nearly no issues. I traded just cause I wanted more range and like new stuff.
  5. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

I didn’t miss anything - that’s what I was referencing. 12% isn’t indicative of a ā€œgame changingā€ and ā€œmind blowingā€ feature - 88% of people who own a Tesla (so not generally of car drivers) don’t think its worth the money. [EDIT - the 1.1 million is total users and mostly those who purchased it...
  6. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

yea. I think there is a disconnect between what ā€œregularā€ people value and what tech-focused/tesla fans value. I think most people view current FSD as a good level 2 system which isn’t worth the $$ where as the Tesla fans/tech folks think it is mind blowing. Maybe both can be true.
  7. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

Is autopilot better than it was 3 years ago? It was terrible on my model Y. I had the basic. It shut off during highway lane changes (blinker to change lanes, shuts off, turn it back on, blinker to change lanes, shut off). I hated it. (Edit: oh god the phantom breaking. Under a highway sign I...
  8. Tesla ‘Full Self-Driving’ tried to drive owner into a lake, viral video shows

I’m curious if you have any thoughts as to why so few Tesla model Y owners subscribe to or purchased FSD? If it’s so good, so mind blowing, wouldn’t the people who have access to it readily subscribe? I admit it’s been a few years since I’ve been in an FSD car (it absolutely sucked). I can grasp...

  10. Anyone else having issues activating Universal Hands Free?

No issues here. I used it this past Sat and Sun without any issues.
  11. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

I feel like I drive a different Rivian than some of you folks. I have no software issues. I’ve never had an issue locking or unlocking doors. Phone as key works 100% of the time. The app is amongst the best I’ve used. The car software is far better than any other car I’ve ever sat in other than...
  12. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

any chance you could answer my question about charging above?
  13. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

I am a bit confused - you changed cars to a car that cost more and you liked less? The only Pro resonating with me for the EV9 is the charging speed (well and I think Rivian needs a captain chair option for sure even though I don’t really care) - can you give a bit more detail there? What was...
  14. Interesting Maps Route Behavior at Low State of Charge

What are you asking for here? It wanted you to go to a charger because that’s probably what you have set in the Nav.
  15. Proximity locking is annoying

I love it; 0 issues with it on my Gen 1, less issues with it on my Gen 2 - more accurate, more prompt, gives me haptic feedback on my watch if it locks/unlocks. Sure if I walk by it, it will lock and unlock (I have it off at home so this is rare). That doesn’t impact me in any way so I don’t...
  16. R2 Early Production Vehicle Sneak Peak on CNBC [Ride Along Video w/ RJ Scaringe]

I own an id.4 - it Is not an SUV . . . In any manner.
  17. Gen 2 HVAC - Success Stories?

I am reluctant to bother responding to this, but just to clarify. First, I was playing off of the prior poster’s claim that I was wasting the service center’s time. Second, my fear (as evidenced by the first two respondents) was this would become yet another apologist-fest of ā€œits normalā€...
  18. Gen 2 HVAC - Success Stories?

Awesome - thanks so much. And @tbinmd good luck and any insight is much appreciated.
  19. Gen 2 HVAC - Success Stories?

The only waste of time is my reading responses to the thread that do not answer my question. If you did not have a service appointment that reduced the sound, please, I beg you, do not respond. I don’t care about your views on HVAC (for purposes of this thread - I have read many other threads...
