  1. Just had my favorite Rivian experience

They were clearly not Seinfeld fans. Pizza on the engine made for a great episode back in the day.
  2. Impressions from a rental fleet owner with a Rivian R1S

The popularity of the Bolt EUV is evidence to me of how much pent up demand there is for a sub-$30k EV (after tax credits). I'm not a fan of GM when it comes to EVs, but they seem to get it. If they sold it in the US, I think the VW ID3 would sell well.
  3. Colorado Checking In

I'm guessing that the 85 in one day is a train delivery. Only one data point but that's a good sign of the ramp up in Normal. Glad to hear that you got your 1 Jul delivery date!
  4. RAN Charging Curve (9% - 81%) Data - From Broomfield, CO Station

I haven't taken delivery yet, so I have no first hand experience. But from other posts and Youtube videos depicting charging curves at EA and other non-Rivian CCS sites, the RAN curves that @zefram47 so kindly put together here appear better (quicker charging to 70%) than non-RAN charging. Can...
  5. RAN Virginity Taken

@moosehead you have a knack for making any auto-related post sound just...dirty. :)
  6. Matchbox Toy Rivian Placed on my Windshield

Since I haven't taken delivery yet, I'm going to put a Matchbox Rivian in a parking lot, and hope someone puts the real thing on top...with key fob.
  7. Colorado Checking In

Did the wear look fairly even, or did you see a difference between front and back? By the way, I noticed your DV plates. Thank you for your service!
  8. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

We also started with an early 2012 Leaf, then added a Tesla X in 2016 to have a cross-country vehicle, and became all-electric at that point. I really liked the Leaf and it became my daily driver. As to your concern about the charging network, you are experiencing CHAdeMo now (the Betamax of...

Looks like Mrs Moose and the Mooselets really enjoyed the game!
  10. New R1S joins our R1T - great experience so far

This was a very helpful writeup. I'll be moving from an early 2016 Model X 75D (102,000 miles and counting) to the R1S. I still love driving the MX, and making use of free lifetime supercharging on our numerous cross-country drives, but I really need more range and interior cargo space. Plus...
  11. How are people using their Hotspot?

Does leaving hotspot on increase vampire drain? Does it keep the truck awake for a longer period when no one is in the vehicle?
  12. Outdoor NEMA 14-50 setup

I concur with @Christopher I've been using the Hubbell 14-50 socket for my Tesla X since 2016. At a 102,000 miles on the car, the Hubbell still only barely gets warm when charging. I had the budget Home Depot version installed first but quickly swapped it out after reading a number of horror...
  13. Equinox EV

The Equinox EV is going to be a big seller for GM. But, and I know this is completely irrational, ever since watching "Who Killed the Electric Car" years ago, and watching GM's endless attempts to scuttle vehicle efficiency standards, I could never consider buying a GM product, no matter how...
  14. Colorado Checking In

Save me a spot. I should be there in, oh, about Feb 2024. ?
  15. Recovery rope thickness

This might help: https://www.tacticalrecoveryequipment.com/size-kinetic-recovery-rope/ Recommendation is to select a breaking strength at least 3x the weight of the heaviest vehicle you might recover. Breaking strength might vary from manufacturer to manufacturer so the specified rated strength...
  16. Colorado Checking In

Did you proactively request access to the store, or did Rivian reach out to you first?
  17. Manual Tonneau Cover coming back?! [Update: Friend's manual tonneau will be shipped when ready - no ETA given]

Just found out that late this year I will only receive an "R1." My "S" is held up by supply chain issues and will be delivered separately. By Oct, I may only be getting an "R"
