  1. Tire Replacement Info

[Edit 9/11/25: Added 275/60R20 tires to the chart] Just in case anyone else would find this useful... My vehicle: Gen 1 quad R1S, large battery I'm at 34,500 miles on my OEM 20" Pirelli Scorpions. When my snow tires go on this winter (Nokian Hakkapeliittas), I'll be replacing my non-winter...
  2. Cybertruck Laugh of the Day [⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS BANNED]

(Source: Electrek.co) Is it just me or does this John Deere electric ag sprayer make a nicer looking Cybertruck? And, unlike the Tesla version, it can really do FSD.
  3. Cybertruck Laugh of the Day [⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS BANNED]

It's called tough love. You made the right decision. 🙂
  4. Colorado Checking In

    Congrats!!
  5. Colorado Checking In

Rick, is this a 2nd R1T, or did you trade in? Tri-motor?
  6. Tesla supercharger question: blocking a stall due to short cable

One more tip I learned on many trips between Colorado and the east coast. I avoid urban Superchargers in downtown areas like Kansas City and Columbus OH. They are always much busier and you run a greater risk of forcing someone else to wait, or not being able to find 2 open adjacent stalls to...
  7. Tesla supercharger question: blocking a stall due to short cable

Here's what I always do at Superchargers. Taking up 2 spots is only my last resort option. - If the left-most charger is open, and it has room to the left, I'll enter perpendicular to the spot, just getting the front of the car close enough to charge. - If the right-most stall is open, and there...
  8. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

I don't care if Ionna has a "favorite" button under networks. I just want it to show up if all network favorite buttons are deselected, just like other smaller networks. I want to be able to navigate (and precondition) to these stations in my Ionna-partner Rivian truck.
  9. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

Rivian announced its strategic partnership with Ionna on May 30, 2025, so I also thought these stations would appear in Rivian navigation by now. Using the Rivian app, I did submit a request to add Ionna stations to both the app and in-car navigation.
  10. R1S 20 inch replacement: Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 vs vs Goodyear Wrangler Territory At

Which Michelins did you get? I do a lot of Colorado winter snow driving, but I already bought a set of Hakka snow tires on dedicated rims. I've got 34,000 miles on the original 20" ATs. When the snow tires go on this winter, I'm replacing the Pirellis. I've got 6 different tire threads...
  11. Rivian's of Nantucket!

Dang. You beat me to it.
  12. ABRP sending me to Tesla chargers rather than RANs

This is the ABRP app (A Better Route Planner) I have on my Android phone. But the same screens will appear on the website also: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/
  13. R2 Sneak Peek

We got to see the R2 at the Electrify Expo in Denver last year, but unfortunately, were not allowed to sit in it. Still, from the outside, I really liked what I saw. As new empty nesters, I think the R2 will be a better fit for us. And, sit down for this, it has a glove compartment! I'm sold...
  14. ABRP sending me to Tesla chargers rather than RANs

From the main page after you log in, select the hamburger icon in the upper left to enter settings. Select "Chargers and Networks " Select "Avoid and Prefer"
  15. Colorado Checking In

I would appreciate some pix, and your assessment as to whether or not I can fit a slate in the back of my R1S. 😄 (with the seats folded down, of course)

  17. Still getting strange looks

A tip of my fedora for you being one of the true EV pioneers. I thought we were doing well with our early 2012 Leaf, but we were driving in the shadows of you RAV4 EV trailblazers who rose from the ashes of the GM EV1 debacle in 1999. Well done.
  18. Yellowstone travel/charging advice

This info is about 7 or 8 years old, but here's how we did Yellowstone in a 2016 Model X 75D with 220 miles full range: 1. We spoke to the manager at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel and asked if we could trickle charge at an outside 15 A socket while hiking. This very nice manager directed us...
  19. New tires question

This sounds like a good deal to me. You will have many more options in the future moving to the 20s. Also, you are between a rock and a hard place right now with a blown tire and the vehicle towed to the service center. I recommend you accept Rivian's offer. Good luck!!
