  1. HVAC settings recommendations while parked and waiting in car

The other nice thing is camp courtesy is persistent even if you get into or out of your car from what I can tell, until you switch into drive (but remember to turn your headlights back on).
  2. HVAC settings recommendations while parked and waiting in car

I like to use Camp Courtesy when waiting in my car. It ensures headlights and parking lights are off, which is nice at night so you don't disturb others with headlights on for a long time; and it ensures the HVAC runs quieter, again avoiding disturbing others. If you are in a place with a lot...
  3. iOS App v2.18.0 and Android 2.18 Released

Is this a real concern? I thought the air suspension raises and lowers all the time during driving, depending on distribution of weight/passengers in car, etc., anyway? Lowering once everytime when parking seems like a small incremental strain on the suspension. Would be great if someone...
  4. cold weather driving range

Also, wanted to add that ABRP live data collects the battery temperature. I don't know if it actually uses that in its calculations. Here's a snapshot from the ABRP website of the live data from my vehicle, you can see the battery temp reported:
  5. cold weather driving range

One option that might work is on your way home to drive to the closest L2 charger you can find, plug in for about an hour to get your battery temperature up, and then drive home. You should get better range that way. Also, if you drove up into the mountains, I would think to get the best...
  6. Tonneau open or closed during snow?

I believe there is a heating element where the wipers rest and you activate it with the rear defrost button (odd UX choice I think). I’m with you on the headlights although someone posted about a recent patent Rivian filed to address that issue. Unclear it will show up in a real product but...
  7. New RAN stations in Placerville, CA and Cisco, TX are now operational

Does this site track all compatible superchargers (even those that need a converter), or only the v4 ones that don't need any special converters? I'm asking because I know of at least one supercharger site that works with a converter (I know because I've used it ;-) ), but there is no...
  8. PA to VT NYE Ski Run

Would love to see a RAN go up in Concord, NH or Lincoln, NH.
  9. Bluetooth Headphones?

Interestingly, I've noticed the headphones that connect to rear entertainment systems often don't work from the front. Probably because the IR doesn't work from up front, but I assume there is some design intent there as well. I can imagine it isn't a great idea for the driver to wear headphones...
  10. ABRP is just not a good road trip planner

I found ABRP really good especially for winter road trips. It takes into account all sorts of parameters including weather. I would say ABRP is "better" in the sense that it provides a lot more powerful knobs and buttons to customize your trip, however that comes with the price of being harder...
  11. Rock Slider Comparison?

Good point. When does that need to happen? Only in exceptional cases, or is that necessary for any routine maintenance, etc?
  12. Rock Slider Comparison?

The DCE Weistec ones didn't cover the factory jack points on my Gen1 R1T, and while the mobile tech at my house today didn't need to jack the car up, when I asked him questions about it he said this was all fine. I was able to do the install by myself because their installation procedure...
  13. It's Christmas Light Crossbar Season! Post Yours ?

How do people route the power cord to the outlet on the R1T when the tailgate and tonneau are both fully shut (or at least it looks that way in the photos)?
  14. Range Against the Machine¹ - Rivian OEM Wheels, Tires, and Range Considered

Interestingly you didn't mention the weight of the wheels and tires. I thought rotational mass of the wheel/tire combo can impact efficiency, especially for city driving with a lot of starts/stops. Maybe it's just not a significant factor? Did your research mention anything about this at all?
  15. 20" Inch Efficient Winter Tires Compilation List - 275/60R20

According to ElectraFi, this was the efficiency I got from my winter tires last year if helpful to anyone. I have a Performance Dual Motor Gen1 R1T. The wheels make a difference too, in my case the tires were mounted on R800 wheels from EV Sportsline. We're in New England, so pretty cool...
