Fair enough. I know Scaringe said (at least according to this article: https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/rivian-debuts-custom-self-driving-chip-2500-driver-assistance-package-2025-12-11/) that they expected to roll out point-to-point autonomous driving and "eyes-off"...
Yeah, familiar with that but it totally doesn't touch on the ability to do point-to-point driving the way Tesla does. It doesn't make autonomous turns or even (I believe) deal with stop signs or traffic lights.
We've got an R1S that is a great great car for hauling kids and everyday driving. But I've also got a ModelY and I use the "FSD" (quotes intentional) a LOT. Yes, it's not 100% but it's FAR FAR better than anything else I've experienced from any other manufacturer. (And it's a 2020 model so not...
Ok, I believe it's (as PeterSK mentioned) something to do with seat belt latches. Specifically we've got this dog-leash thing that clicks into the seatbelt latch and my wife sometimes just leaves it clicked in. This was never a problem with the Tesla (you can be sitting in the Tesla and it will...

Took delivery of our Canyon Red R1S last weekend - trading in a 2016 ModelX (and I also currently own ModelY)
General thoughts - Rivian Build quality seems good, driving experience is enjoyable (but obviously different from the ModeX).
Software, though, is definitely a bit of a mixed bag. It...
I signed up and tried out an EVgo charger yesterday and it told me that Connect+ wasn't supported on my VIN or something. 2025 R1S, for what it's worth.
Taking delivery of R1S on Monday but it sounds like the Rivian NACS adapter will be a few weeks later. Would like to charge using my garage Tesla Wall Charger.
Don't suppose there's anybody near Hermosa/Manhattan who's got one they might let me borrow for a bit? Or even just briefly to confirm...
Wondering if someone more knowledgeable than I about all this stuff might weigh in on the financial tradeoffs between buying vs leasing for my specific situation.
I have an original preorder (from January, 2019 - did not sign any additional contract) that will be expiring on Sept 30, 2024. I'm...
