  1. R1S shifts to park when backing trailer

I always buckle the seatbelt behind me so I can backup a trailer like I always have. They need a way to bypass this stupid feature!
  2. Rear dampener needs replaced, just past warranty

A good air suspension should last a lot longer. My last vehicle (2015 Ram 1500 limited) had zero issues with the air suspension at 90k miles and 9.5 years old.
  3. The Truth About Reliability

Be sure to look at sources other than Consumer Reports for reliability ratings. Consumer Reports is biased and their ratings rely on customer surveys which is a small percentage of the whole group. Consumer Reports has been pay to play for years.
  4. Any lawyers here? Company is banishing EVs to the far edges of my work campus

Well it shows the level of stupidity of the people that made this decision. They don't realize that data shows ICE vehicles are more likely to catch fire than EVs (EVs are harder to extinguish).
  5. Rivian service center load and number of car defects that need to be addressed

I have had two service calls in the first month to fix minor issues (should have been caught at the factory). Two minor panel alignment issues, the dash noise most have had, damaged passenger side interior panel, 4 wheel alignment, AC that was low on freon, and two small dents (PDR fixed it)...
  6. !Dry out your R1T spare tire bay! Or expect RUST & Petri dish effects!

No issues with my 24 R1T letting water in. I was actually commenting to my wife a couple of weeks ago about how water tight it has been. I don't have a spare tire. I just keep a plug kit in mine. In 38 years of driving I have had to use the spare one time.
  7. Best Screen Cleaner?

No need for chemicals. Just a clean slightly damp microfiber cloth and then a dry one to dry the screen. Good old H2O will do the trick!
  8. Wassym: Gen 2 Premium Audio EQ will improve via OTA updates

Put in a service request. Something is wrong with yours. Mine has been getting better and better with OTA updates.
  9. Rivian won't tell me battery SOH?

I know some are wondering so I will ask. How did you get your app API data?
  10. PSA: Gear Guard not catching dings

It is getting harder to find really good PDR people. The Rivian SC used their guy to fix my dents (all from the factory) and he got all but one fixed. The one that was left had a raised point he said he couldn't do anything with. I took it to the guy I use and he spent an hour slowly tapping the...
  11. PSA: Gear Guard not catching dings

You need to find a different PDR guy if they said that. The person I use said since the truck is mostly aluminum it makes it slightly harder to pull dents out but not impossible if you know what you are doing. He pulled two out of mine and I can't tell where they were. One was really deep.
  12. Putting miles on in the garage

Why do you have a dash cam? Gear guard seems to check that box.
  13. Adhesive front license plate

The EV plate is NOT required for Colorado. You can get any CO plate you want and they give you a little sticker to put in the corner of your windshield that says EV. I don't think a single cop out there will care if you actually use the EV sticker or not. They have more important things to deal...
  14. MOLD!! Gen 2 - Carpet is saturated with water!!

Full disclosure - mine wasn't great at first. They had to add refrigerant to it. They said it was short a good amount. Once they added it and checked for leaks, the result was really cold air! I have seen where several people have had new R1 vehicles with too little refrigerant installed at the...
  15. MOLD!! Gen 2 - Carpet is saturated with water!!

My AC works fine in my 2024 R1T. Many 105 deg days here in CO plus the altitude adds to the heat.
  16. Tie Rod Replaced, SC left me with new issue…

It seems the SC experience varies greatly from center to center. So far the Colorado Springs, CO SC has been great. Appt times are about 2 weeks at most for even common issues.
  17. Mice damaging wires

Have you looked at sealing your garage to keep them out?
  18. Level 2 charging causes my house LEDs to flicker

Most likely the problem is with the LED lights or the Dimmer being used. If they are older (more than 4 years) I would look at replacing them with a newer version (Pick one to start with. Don't do all at once). Early versions of LED lights and dimmers were very sensitive to any type of noise on...
  19. Apple vs. Tidal comparison review -- and Atmos

I haven't seen that issue with mine. You may want to have the service dept look at it the next time you take it in.
  20. Apple vs. Tidal comparison review -- and Atmos

What doesn't work well with it? I haven't seen any problems with it but I only listen to it 10% of the time. Most of time it's Pandora or Alexa/Amazon
