The RAN pull through stations are great, but I’ve definitely done this elsewhere. Much easier towing during not peak hours with reduced road / charging traffic.
Im saying it’s objectively not a $100k vehicle, and people negatively comparing the quality/luxury aspects to 100k vehicles are doing themselves a disservice.
I think at least we’re saying the same thing. I spent nearly 100 for hauling and range capabilities and get that value from it.
Even...
Growth as in more of past growth and how many R1 they put on the road to be serviced vs hiring skilled technicians, which is going to be a slog unfortunately
That’s the thing, they’re not 100k vehicles. Everyone says this. They’re ~68k vehicles that can be optioned up on a ton of stuff that has little to do with luxury. That said, I’m perfectly fine with the build quality of my 92k spec’d R1T. IMO a “$100k” car is one that starts at 100k; calibrate...
I felt like I was being superstitious but specifically avoided a powered cover when I ordered mine thinking “It’s just another thing that can break.” That turned out to be very real.
Also have and really like the WeatherTech cover. I found that I can open the tailgate just slightly in my garage...
Pulling the car forward has been super stable for me on the Super Sport, but I know some people back them in.
Also the rock guard IMO is overkill; it’s taller than it really needs to be. I’m actually looking at making a custom one that’s half height, or at least whatever gets me to a few inches...
This is something that conceptually I've been looking for over a period of years and saw that this recently came out. I asked the installer who did my R1T ppf/tint as well as a past car who said that they just started trying it internally and to check back in.
That was a few months ago, so I...
To be honest I think degradation is overblown. It’s good that the OEMs prep us to be aware of it, but at the same time these EV batteries are pretty solid. I think they’re on the winning side of under promise over deliver, at least in terms of deg.
My last one was repeatedly fast charged...
I’m guessing that the original post was not at all about preconditioning, but scavenging motor heat from regular driving (that would otherwise be wasted) to keep the battery in the more efficient temperature zone.
I’ve been wondering this myself while driving around with a 35F battery and 90F...
First time I ever heard about this and definitely don’t experience it in my Gen2 max. Literally every charge session, whether adding a few kwh or >half the pack in temperatures 5-50 degrees have been completely flat for me. Guess I’ll report myself in that thread as not having a problem.
Pressing the throttle to brake less is exactly why I’ve never been a fan of one pedal drive. It’s everyone following a dumb Tesla design. Polestar’s blended brake is 100% the way to go.
I know there’s OPD fans out there, but if we want adoption of EVs, expecting every random person to simply...
It seems like there’s a lot of motor failures given how reliable electric motors generally are. I’m wondering if their inductive heating tactic (which I assume is to then warm a battery heating circuit?) during charging is way too aggressive and they’re just needlessly nuking these.
The number of rear end incidents feels like it’s taking off. IMO it’s not the brake light design, it’s that people need to chill out or gtf off their phones while driving. Just dodged one the other day where the car behind me continued to leave almost zero gap at every light, then they were...
This sounds like you potentially had a drive failure, strangely in the front; I’ve heard of some rears failing due to the clutch system that engages the rear motor. My guess is the drive stalk error in your case was only a symptom of a much larger failure, well beyond what is being experienced...
Besides the “where’s your ___” is being a tired phrase, you definitely overpaid. Even the GT3, with its real dry sump system in contrast, still follows the normal “pull plug, drain, refill” process.
Nice, our setups are very similar, I’m actually even picking up AT dark wheels shortly. I also have the tire rack but removed it because I haven’t been carrying extra wheels and figured I might just use the truck bed anyway. I’ll have to see how that works out with all the other junk I carry.
It’s under the front passenger seat, which IMO is kind of nuts. I get that design is difficult, but I would have taken less frunk storage and had it up front, assuming easier access than both what gen1 and 2 have.
I’ve definitely torn apart my fair share of cars and despite the inconvenience of...
I’m going to go out on a limb there and say that the trolling wasn’t referring to your shock and amusement at no battery failures in 25 years, but the bit about reaching out to Guinness. Amazingly enough, you added it a second time in this mildly confusing response.
I cant tell whether you’re...
