@SANZC02 thanks for the input on the jack, yes I did buy the socket, breaker bar and torque wrench, went for the Dewalt 1/2 inch kit(DWMT45012) - it includes a 22mm socket. Getting the spare a week or so out.
@238AMK your R1S looks cool. Having had running boards for some time, would not go a day without them - also family would be up in arms.
Feel Rivian missed an opportunity to make them would have gladly paid a higher amount who knows they may still come through some day ?
@Craigins was not aware of that - what I could understand was do not leave it plugged in at 100% which I did not do, I knew that you should normally charge to < 70% and only to 100% for long trips. Appreciate you calling that out will make a note for future.
So I charge to 100% before I left for vacation, the R1S was left in my garage with nobody touching it for the duration. I was out of country - would occasionally watch the battery percentage, did an update from half way around the world.
Was pleasantly surprised to find the battery was at 91%...
I had a similar discussion with the Rivian rep who gave me the test drive and was also the person who I took my R1S delivery from at Rivian service center in San Jose, CA.
What he mentioned was the warranty impact would be limited to what changes were made - In this case we cut holes in the two...
I drove in All purpose mode for the entire trip, have heard of tire wearing more with the front wheels requiring frequent tire rotations with Conserve mode, not sure if it is a strong enough factor to consider avoiding for long trips. For now use it only in a pinch to extend range.
Just came back from a trip to Lake Tahoe/Reno from CA bay area. Started with fully charged to 100% made two stops on the way.
1. Second image at RAN Sacramento, CA - Charged at ~ 200+ KW/h, there is a Costco right across to the right, family spent 20 min or so there and we were ready to go...
On a recent trip to Santa Cruz, ran into a couple outside a restaurant who were interested in the running boards. They have booked a R1S and are waiting for their delivery in the future. Was good to spend time with them explaining the details, referred this forum where they could get more...
I am using these on 4 seats, they go over the head support and also there is a clasp that goes behind the seat. If you are asking if I use these on seats 6 and 7 - no I am not as these seats are sparingly used.
Somehow my impression was Cybertruck would be bigger, adding it here as some folks will have cross shopped the R1S with the Cybertruck, Looks like Rivian will do fine, yes specs will be a factor
BTW kudos to the R1T driver if you notice at a red-light he jumped out and took the picture - notice...
@Pluto I had a GX470 before this, yes the running boards were standard. Lexus makes great trucks will always respect mine for the thousands of miles travelled with the family - would just say that R1S met my needs and exceeded them.
The Plastic panels you have to cut or remove (I chose to cut...
Another option for the door sill area, would look better with some yellow decal.

I think those are rock sliders for protection only - there are ones available with a step, the one they had does not have a step from what can be seen.
Grab from Motor trend - Rubicon coverage -
"With the exception of steel rock sliders, front tow hitch receivers, and a roof rack loaded with...
Looking to put some car door sill guards on all 4 doors (this area is bound to get scratched) would prefer something to match the overall look and feel. Hoping someone has tried some of the options available and can recommend.
I have bought these, they match perfectly for ocean coast and are very durable, can be machine washed, on the driver seat (max usage) should last at least an year -
