I find a lot of the posts here entertaining. if the CT was slower, you all would have jumped all over it. But with it faster now quarter mile and 0-60 doesn't matter and only "creepy" people care about it. That CT on AT wheels smoked the R1T on sport wheels...
Yeah, this exactly. People are talking about how a lot of this stuff, e.g. 48v, don't really matter to them. While that's true, just wait until Tesla decides to enter a price war. Just look at say a Ford Mach-e and a Model Y. Tesla builds things in a way to maximize margin. Tesla can offer a Y...
I find it interesting to watch how the CT criticism has evolved. Went from vaporware to now that we see some pretty impressive features and specs that it's "not something they invented" or "not everything they promised" or "wont be that useful yet."
As an R1T owner and someone who has never...
V2H is just so expensive to setup at your home that I find it not really worth it. Iāve had a few power outages since I got my R1T (longest being ~12 hours) and an extension cord from the bed to the house was enough to power my fridge, my gas heater, a couple lamps, and my wifi. While I wouldnāt...
Love my R1T and will be my only truck and I will keep it for at least another 4 years (unless it dies before that) however, what Iāve seen and watched today my take away is - the CT is kind of cool and I kind of really want one ?āāļø
Yep I get it. While I live in an area that has 5G everywhere, I do frequently drive in the mountains that has nothing. On my phone I have my Spotify app keep all my playlists and liked songs saved automatically. So anything I add or like itās always on my phone. While I get this is less ideal...
As one of the first subscribers of Sirius (years before the XM merger) I couldnāt agree more on it being a dead-tech. Satellite radio was amazing back then when we had no smart phones, we had no LTE or 5g, no Spotify, etc. I moved to a streaming only Sirius XM plan many years ago and Itās been...
But at least you can do it over email and direct with Tesla. I'm more worried about the Ford and 2 GM reservations I have. I already tried getting my money from Ford but you need to get it from the dealership. I emailed the dealership and nothing. So now I'm faced with a complex phone call for...
Yeah, certainly a positive that you can get an R1T sooner. They might have a million+ reservations but a lot of folks have already moved on or were not serious anyway, so if they really can knock out 250K a year they might be able to get through the initial reservation holders pretty fast, say 1...
I've not looked at the details yet, but based on those prices I think Rivian will need to come down a bit to stay competitive. The specs and prices are compelling at first glance.
I also like idea of the 61K RWD. While not coming available for a while I imagine a lot of folks that just need a...
I finally got my cover today after 10 months. It came with zero damage, which I was worried about. While I've read a lot from others, I'll say I'm still a little surprised about how cheap this thing is. My 2cents
Pros:
1. look really nice from the outside. appears premium and OEM
2. the bag is...
I'd love if we had some sort of community guide for simple but catastrophic shit to check on our Rivians. I've seen a lot of dumb things break that could have been avoided if we knew to check. For example, saw one Rivian died recently due to a loose grounding screw and another had some wires...
Love the opposite positions of the top two largest auto manufactures in the world by volume. Toyota at the top and VW at the bottom. Having owed multiple of both, I fully agree with their placement.
I'll say, my current Rivian is already way more reliable than my last VW.
Iām not sure Iām aligned with hands-free texting as a āsafety feature.ā More like a slightly less un-saftey feature. Now a camera facing the driver that watched for someone texting while driving then gave them alerts and limited their speed is a safety feature Iād get behind.
What I dont understand is why is a latch even needed? When the tailgate is closed, isnāt it just locked in place? Meaning, if It broke, does it even matter? I dont plan on driving with the cover in and the tail gate down. I just donāt understand how they could over engineer such a simple thing...
I would never sit in a line like this. If this was my only option, I'd go back to 100% ICE. This is why I live in the top end of the battery pack. Yes, it's less efficient, but gives you options to skip and move on.
