I've noticed similar behavior. I would assume the algorithm factors in the number of stalls. The tesla SC probability has significantly more stalls available which would make for a better recommendation.
Yeah, you certainly shouldn't toss a suede jacket in the bed, but it's watertight enough that most things are fine.
But it's really the combination of gear tunnel + funk + bed + rear under seat storage that sets it apart for every other truck, SUV, or car out there.
Agree with most of what you said, but I currently have a Tesla and a Rivian, and while Tesla has more features, I prefer Rivian's UI a lot more. Rivan's approach is very intuitive and easy to use while I always feel like I need to keyword search on Tesla to find what I'm looking for.
But if this forum has taught me anything...CarPlay is what SOME people want, not ALL. I for one prefer Tesla and Rivian's approach to full ownership of experience than say Ford and GM. Maybe people like me would look elsewhere if Rivian looked like a GM ?‍♂️. So the look elsewhere argument cuts...
tonneau cover...fully enclosed and secure and while not 100% water tight it's more than adequate. For example I have a decent sized fridge in the bed 24x7 with no issue in the rain.
And in terms of security, how many tonneau cover smash and grabs you ever heard of vs how many SUV rear glass?
Valid reasons, but I find the R1T (not the R1S) a game changing road trip vehicle. The amount of storage that's quick/easy access (gear tunnel + frunk) and the volume of large storage (in the bed) means you can bring more and keep the cabin completely luggage/gear free which makes for a much...
It's the right call in the long run. if you want to be a software centric car company focused on driver's experience, you don't outsource your experience to a 3rd party. Having both screens and all car features work in harmony is very much ideal.
I think you are over thinking It. A spare battery and tools should be a sufficient backup plan. While 12v failure is somewhat common it’s still highly unlikely to occur on your trip. I would think your parallel battery plan would actually be more likely to cause problems than prevent a problem...
While I don't have any trips planned that would require DC fast charging, I decided I'd rather have the option to use Tesla SC just in case and ordered the new A2Z Pro adapter. Very possible I'll never use it before my Rivian/Tesla adapter comes, but I'm ok with the $200 expense. My bet is Tesla...
While I don't regret my decision to go with the R1T and will continue to enjoy it the next ~4 years, the promises of D+ certainly influenced my decision. I had early deposits on every eTruck and did a pretty detailed analysis on features when making the decision. Autonomous systems were pretty...
I'd get the PDR and be fine with it not looking perfect. I'd then casually keep my eye out for a tailgate from a salvage that was in good shape and the same color. I did a quick ebay search and see several in various conditions for a few hundred dollars. I assume you could get a perfect one for...
Interested. I’d suggest abandoning the power idea and keep it dead simple, cheap as possible, and get to market sooner. A simple flat sled that pulls fully out on both sides would be a differentiator that I think people are looking for.
Dude...I think it's time you abort the aftermarket horn idea. At this point it's getting a bit ridiculous. Maybe it's the horn or maybe it's the R1, but I really don't think the horn is so bad that it's worth all this drama and expense. Return the horn and be happy with a truck that turns on...
It's been a week since I dropped my R1T off at service. I've been watching the logs closely and see it has not been opened or moved since they moved it to the back lot ~30 minutes after I dropped it off. I brought it in for simple things that probably would take no more than 4 hours for 1 person...
Ugh. I've got an appointment there in about a week. Booked it 4 months ago and not looking forward to it. What were the logistics on the enterprise rent a car? Did they manage that for you? Or did you uber or something to a near by location? I assumed they paid for it?
Bummer Gen1 wont get anymore autonomous features, but highly likely RAP would be offered at a price I wouldn’t pay for anyway. I cant justify paying $100/month for FSD on my Tesla, which is way more advanced than RAP, so I certainly cant see paying for RAP. Considering their connection play is...
Considering I live in SoCal I would say I almost never drive in "substandard conditions." Although it has been raining an unusual amount this month and there has never been an issue other than a warning saying something like FSD performance might be reduced. But no crazy weather. While radar and...
Reading lots of comments about how terrible FSD is. I’d remind folks that the FSD in cars today is very very different than the FSD in cars at the start of this year. I’ve got over 1K miles on the latest FSD during the April trial period and I’d say it’s pretty freaking great. It is pretty clear...
