Vast majority of R1S deliveries are still pre-2021 orders, you aren’t being robbed. I ordered 2/1/2020 and still don’t have it. 20 mins from SC and not OC interior.
The lack of a recommended winter tire is a big miss and a safety issue. To say using one like a Nokian LT3 that meets all of the vehicle specs will void the warranty is ludicrous.
Yup really. I got a new guide 2 weeks ago, but she went on vacation evidently as I’m getting an auto reply. The only vehicle update I’ve gotten in “In transit” since early Feb. in general both guides have not been very responsive so it’s probably at the SC.
That’s true, but aren’t they telling people who bought in 2022 but took delivery in 2023 that they don’t qualify for the old rules (the no income cap rules)? And if so, how could someone who bought in 2023 possibly qualify?
I think these are 53lb tires, while the ATs are 48lb.... I think a lighter road tire on 20s should outperform the 21s in range. With Teslas, smaller wheels alway get better range.
Yes you can put winter tires on the 21s and several owners have done it. Nokian even recommends one on their site. The catch is it’s a slightly different size at 275/50 R21

In the end it electric motors moving a very heavy vehicle. There is only marginal improvement using conserve which in effect is cutting down to 2 motors that are smaller than the dual motors. So dual will likely have similar range to conserve on the 4 motor.
