Our guide has been sending us available vehicles at various service centers and at the factory. That could be what she's referring to. Guides have more control over that vs the Shop.

I can’t speak for California specifically, but I’ve been told no money exchanges hands in person. If you pay via cashiers check, I’d assume you have to mail it Rivian prior to delivery. ACH is a fairly seamless process. Wires are a funds sent and they’re gone. If you mess up something the money...

Every time I see a dealer markup I’m glad I get to buy directly from Rivian.

This is a good example of why our guide said hold off on paying for the truck and doing insurance until we have a confirmed delivery date. I know that’s not possible for everyone, but I’ve heard a lot of these stories of people who handed over money and don’t have a vehicle.
