It is "always" adaptive, but when no car is ahead it's basically standard cruise control - simply maintaining the set speed. I've had it almost 3 years and it's never acted this way, very noticeable my wife even asked what was wrong.
No, this isn't adaptive but general cruise control (no follow vehicle). Once set speed is reached, it backs off abruptly, as needed, to maintain the set speed.
Adaptive works as intended.

New GMaps update worked swimmingly today for 13 plot points. A gripe would be the large font in the top left direction box, it's YUGE. After a few hours driving the only thing I currently miss about MapBox is the 3D "view"; at least Googles sat is updated/current!

Same, laggy now and the UI has been consistently "slowing" since earlier this year. No longer snappy to navigate through the menus and is now almost embarrassing when I'm "showing off" the truck...soft/hard resets do not help.
I hold out hope after each update that it will improve.
