That brings me some hope... I also picked my R1S from the store on May 25th and it is also headed to Bellevue from Normal. As of today, it is still in Normal... but loading on a truck soon. And I have had lots of cars shipped over the years and sometime the speed at which a truck can move...
My guide mentioned this on the phone yesterday as well. He confirmed that my R1S was switched from Rail to Truck transport which should speed things up significantly.
While having PPF on the vehicle when it arrives is convenient... it's better than any other option they could have dropped. So just be happy it's just the PPF... which you can have done easily (and likely even higher quality)
Does seem like there is a history to this car... carrier truck drove it under a tree branch or something. That is rough :-O. Good call to the OP for rejecting it, that would have been a difficult decision to make.
