Agree.
So sad that vehicles even in this price range are somehow considered "disposable".
Much of that can be blamed on insurers, who seem to justify higher and higher insurance costs.
Some of the blame has to come back to manufacturers like Rivian, who should engineer better durability...
Thanks for that info. Hilarious that is even needed.
Hoping the software update will tone it down enough.
I may go for a blackout option that covers all but one LED.
I'm a Yes on my 2023 R1T dual perf max.
Fully agree with the many observations others have made, both positive (ride, capability, power, utility) and negative quirks (door locks, ventilation, infotainment). Nonetheless, this is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. It has replaced 4 others...
Just purchased a Rivian Wll Charger second hand that had never been hooked up. Boy howdy, is it ever bright!
Just got it connected yesterday at our little cabin in the woods. 50' away from our window it neary kept us up all night. Glowed bright green even after our R1T was fully charged. Sure...
Re spare bumper, it is notable that on the R1, the hitch receiver attaches to the frame rails independently from the rear frame end that supports the bumper. Impact to a hitch mounted spare bumper would probably be absorbed by the hitch receiver and bolts perpendicular to the frame, without...
The R1T that I saved from the scrap yard had similar rear end damage, except for the bent frame. With <$5k in parts, that "totalled" vehicle could be made fully road/off-road worthy.
One impact of the R2 going with cast aluminum frames is that it will make any kind of frame damage much less...
Still rebooting my phone (Pixel 7a) almost daily to once again be recognized by my gen 1 R1T.
It salutes my wife loyally every time she's near (iPhone 13).
I think this is perhaps more a function of the difference in our phone hardware and app than in our physiology.
Lol ... My girlfriend at the time had one of those. She was a shortie; actually sat on a phone book (if you can remember those) so that she could see over the dash. Makes me smile to remember.
Aptera has performed pretty rigorous crash testing.
I believe their target production ramp was to 20k units for the first full year of production. (Old info, so that might be no longer the case.)
Will keep waving regardless of whether folks wave back or not. Might make me the fool but I'm friendly, not needy. Kindness has to start somewhere.
Generally just wave, since some of the suggested hand gestures could land me in the middle of the UT / A&M rivalry in my area.
Already have the performance package so really haven't been able to compare it to non-perf. Not interested in wearing our my tires with Sport, but have enjoyed a burst of speed avoiding the other occasional idiot on the freeway (pretty sure every Rivian has that).
I do use off-road and Soft...
FWIW, I installed these tie downs in my bed in locations where the bed liner bolts to the body.

$8 for 6 of them on Amazon. Supposedly stainless, but time will tell.

Just pry off the round plastic covers over the bolts, remove the bolt and round steel...
Agree the shop should be more careful, and probably liable to have the battery health evaluated... Compensation if damaged by their negligence.
Some anecdotal info from my experience that may or may not apply: Bought my dual perf max R1T from a salvage yard. Sat in the salvage yard for almost 6...
I expect that my R1T is just like anyone else's (dual perf max), except that the back end is a bit ugly, it has no warranty, and resale value is poor.
I chose to only make functional repairs (rear bumper, sensors) and not sweat minor dents to the tailgate and rear quarter panel. I figure I...
You make an excellent point.
I just keep looking at what Aptera is offering at $40k and thinking there are other capable vehicles in that same price range. I suppose there will be a market for early adopters and those with $$ to spend on cool new toys. IMHO, after that first brief set of...
Also a long time Aptera supporter, investor, res holder. Have the t-shirt and follow their progress.
Like some of the others, my investment is more of a vote that I would like a world with solar EV in it. It is fascinating what they have done from an engineering perspective. There are several...
