I realized it’s not probably easy to do multi zone climate with just a heap pump. AFAIK, the heat pump either cools or heats only, can’t support doing both at once.
so say it’s 65° out, and driver wants 62° and passenger wants 70°. I don’t see how this can be achieved without toggling the heat...
I’m really curious what features they will add to the fob later. in the in car after update notes, it said “more features to come!” for the fob v2.
yes I would really hope so! But I keep hearing about little UI bugs or such that people often resolve with hard reset after installing the OTA. e.g. the fuzzy wheel power indicator (although I haven’t tried reset to fix that yet)
just wanted to poll on what forum members here do... since Rivian doesn't seem to do same effect as "hard reset" after OTA.
is it bad to do preemptive hard reset after installing?
wonder why Rivian doesn't just do a similar operation nightly or something.
I think the day/night chip/owl switched from ambient light to time based?
It used to hoot in my garage, but it is chirping now!
also noticing a motorcycle supposedly tailgating me on my driver visualization occasionally, but disappears after 1 second. (but I think this was there before this...
any observations yet from gen2 tris out there? :D
maybe placebo, but I feel like midrange acceleration is better?
subtle maneuvering is still the same and painful for minor adjustments in my garage parking maneuver.
Hmm the video app is not working and asking to subscribe to connect+ even tho I have trial until end of year…
update took 5 mins for waiting, it is unlocked now. Didn’t do anything!
I'm downloading now!
c+ trial, gen2 tri max
but no live activity or indication from car/app that update is downloading.
only found out via home network router stats for Rivian client.
I just noticed this on gen1 release notes:
Gear Guard will use HV battery instead of 12V to improve 12V battery health
Wonder if that’s already the case for gen2?
I’m actually more excited to see what exactly this update to throttle will bring to my Gen2 R1S Tri.
I just got Gen1 R1T Quad loaner this morning, and the throttle mapping in AP mode is very responsive, and made me realize how sluggish and heavy the pedal is on my R1S.
Also side observations...
As I said in the other thread:
I would hope it's enhanced as in faster... but it could also mean "enhanced" as in more stable, and reliable, which could mean slower.. Why didnt they just say "faster acceleration" to reduce ambiguity? lol
new 2024.47 supposedly preconditions the battery:

A new Climate Schedule feature allows preconditioning of the cabin and battery before planned drives, with settings available for temperature, seat...
