I can’t say I like the audio. Meridian was meh and non-Meridian even worse. From the state of the audio and the gen. 1 cameras, I can only conclude that RJ is slightly hard of hearing and also somewhat blind.
I bought awesome CarpodGo T3 Pro 60 FPS CarPlay screens for both my Rivians and love them. 5G connectivity from my phone, every app imaginable, and no extra fees over what I already pay for cellular. They will save a bunch of money in the long term and the experience is far superior to Rivian...
The alternate is to allow third party service centers. This is a consequence of letting Rivian have a monopoly on service. Monopolies are bad, and I wish Rivian dealers existed to check the power that Rivian has over their customers after the sale.
What irks me is that I already traded in an early VIN R1S for a newer R1S, and that seems to have deprioritized me in the queue for an NACS adapter. It should go by earliest VIN ever seen in the account.
Rivian must really need money if they’re willing to dilute their engineering focus on a joint venture. That, or the promise of shared parts helping margin is too good to ignore.
To EVs, or filing service tickets?
Wait, either way… don’t answer. ?
I want to state for the record that the R1T is the best EV I’ve owned yet. It’s so much fun, drives really well, and yet also has so much utility.
They’re mostly listed on these forums under my old handle, NineElectrics. I couldn’t stay away, guys. Creating a new account is easier than trying to update my handle, which, as you can see, was getting stale.
The update is that I couldn’t resist the pre-refresh sale and also picked up a dual...
I have had three. All three had about twenty tickets filed, each, within three or four weeks of delivery. However, none have been alignment or A/C related.
I’ve never been able to get more than 85 kW out of one of these, but others are doing better, so I suppose it’s just my luck, or some kind of variance in the adapter or battery temps.
With third party adapters I’ve never been able to get more than 85 kW to my Rivian from Tesla superchargers (this happened to me today, in fact). Has anyone done better with the real deal adapter? It would be a shame if that’s as fast as one could get.
The issue is that at a normal dealership you can test drive your exact car before you buy it, which preempts a lot of issues. With Rivian, you can’t.
Case in point, my R1T was delivered about six weeks ago, and I found a ton of issues after driving it that I didn’t spot at delivery time...
