For regular extension cords, short is answer yes you should limit. Extension cords are not rated for continuous use at their load rating. You would always want to limit the amps to the lowest continuous limit on the circuit (breaker, wire, outlet, extension cord, etc).
I don't think the same...
OP, I don't think a Rivian is for you. I'm sure there's someone out there that would be happy to give it a good home and you can go get a Tesla and then have nothing to complain about.
I get that maybe not everyone wants to do as much planning and thought about road trips and charging but...
You can also check out all the chargers at the website below and if you select "open to EVs" it is magic doc and "open to NACS" it is for adapters

This is a common complain on modern LED headlights. If you look in reddit and many other forums (not just Rivian, but general forums) people complain about how bright the LED lights are and the color temperature being too harsh. Especially if you have an intersection where you are sitting on a...
I just got mine back last week and my noise issue is solved. Service adviser drove it with me on the highway and was careful to say that there is going to be some noise at higher highway speeds, but then recognized the sound immediately (sounds like wind coming through windshield wipers on a car...
As said here, I left ours last summer (several software updates ago) for 10 days in a busy parking garage with gear guard on and it lost like 1% a day. I think some others on the forums have a legit issue with vampire drain, I'm not sure if they aren't letting the vehicle connect to something or...
I love the Autel Maxicharger I have for our Rivian. They only offer it in CCS, but it has load sharing, a great app that tracks costs and power, and is weatherproof. The only think that will get me to change it out I think is the availability of bi-directional charging and then I will probably...
Just got our launch edition R1S back from the service center in Gaithersburg Maryland today, it was a great service experience. I had a ticket in since last summer for wind noise coming through the driver side window.
Dropped off the R1S on Tuesday afternoon and unfortunately no loaners so I...
I see. I thought I had seen where people were able to jump from the trailer hitch from a portable jump starter, but maybe it was jus to get the doors and funk open.
There was a mix up and I had 1800 of them arrive at my house. I'm thinking of using them like pavers on my garage floor, sort of like a cobblestone effect... they are very soft to walk on though...
Well, I like integration and dual use too, but there are limits IMO. With the approach above, why not have the car completely rely on the computing power of the phone and essentially makes the vehicle a peripheral of the phone? Of course, it is because not everyone has a great phone, what if the...
Give me some rope here...
What if you modified the receiver box to BE the battery jumper. That is, make spots inside the box to hold little metal contact clips and make the box the exact size to hold some common batteries on Amazon with enough power to jump the Rivian. A little extra room for...
This is exactly my thinking. Most people say they want android auto or CarPlay, they really want Google maps/navigation/traffic/Waze.
Second to that they might like a media app, but I actually think Rivian will add those with ease down the road.
All of this said, I did post earlier this week...
Yea, I see that now. Maybe the person took the photo with a front facing camera on their phone or with a mirror? Still wouldn't explain the three phase.
