Just FYI, if you can get the Gen2 2025 Rivian the ride is pretty much as smooth as the CT. There was a huge improvement in suspension in Gen2.
For the record - I used to have a Gen1 2023 R1S and now I have a Gen2 2025 R1S and I also have a Cybertruck, so I can tell based on actual driving...
Thank you so much guys!!!! ??

I do have issues with my gen2 though as the USB-C ports stop working shortly after reboot making charging and gear guard not work too, but I have a SC...
Hello fellow Rivian owners!
We're doing a 2 days (ends tomorrow) 15% Prime Day sale via our website only (I do see the irony, but Amazon already takes ~40% cut so we're not doing it there).
Use code PRIME24 during checkout to get the discount.
You can see all of our original Rivian accessories...
In terms of installation they are pretty similar (PET vs Glass). What I observe though is that many people will crack the glass in time (usually a small accidental hit and it's cracked), while no such issues with PET. With that said, Glass might be better for shock absorption and is more scratch...
2024.23.30 here and it only worked for a day and stopped again. Both USB-C ports under the armrest stop working about a day after vehicle reboot (or new software update which essentially does the same - vehicle reboot). I hope they fix it pronto!

Yes. I am in East Bay and this is the closest one. I see Sacramento has a little bit less of a wait time but it's 1.5hrs each way (SF is "only" 1hr each way, similar to SJ).
Short answer to your question - Yes, get a R1S! Amazing vehicle!
Issues - it's never been underivable, but some small annoyances do occur every now and then. SC tends to be with a long wait time for me (Bay Area - 3+ months of waiting for SC) but knock on wood I've never had a critical issue.
My issue with reporting everything is that if I do, they will tell me to go to the SC... and the SC is an hour drive each way, that's total of 4 hours of my time, and I've been pretty busy - I don't have 4hrs for non-emergencies. With the current list they agreed to send a mobile tech and I...
I never tested them like that, always tested them one by one for some reason, so each test was - "this door is the last". I was skeptical of this being the issue after reading your comment but decided to give it a shot just in case (for science! ?) and boy oh boy - you are right!!! If I keep one...
If nobody here says they have these issues too, I will certainly do that. But I will wait for a day or two, if more people report them then perhaps it’s just software issues which they will probably fix.
I told them about the mirrors and USB-C ports (and a hardware issue with the doors not latching easily unless you slam them hard). I have a mobile tech coming on Aug 5 but since most of these look like software issues and I don’t see anyone else reporting them it got me wondering what’s going on.
Hey folks
I took delivery of our Gen 2 R1S two weeks ago. It has software version 2024.19.02. I am having A LOT of issues which appear to be software so I wanted to see if it's just me and just inpatiently wait for an update or it could be something with my car.
Here are the issues that I...
