I use a ‘TBone’ hitch mount bed extender. Have hauled lots of 8’, 10’, and 12’ material… and several small loads of 16’ material for a short distance. Always use ratchet straps across both front and back tie downs and by all means hang a bright red flag on the rear! Amazon link for TBone
