Couldn’t agree more. Yeah the weight is a major factor, of course.
‘New Car Replacement’ coverage - if you can find/get it - is well worth it. I got ‘first 3 years’ worth for $38/year from Nationwide/Rivian. It bought me a new $100K Gen2 when mine was totaled in an accident that on my R1T looked...
Bought same for my R1T and it works well… but sadly my Gen 1 suffered Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly (totaled). But the cooler bag still works well in my Gen 2, just has to live in the top section of the frunk.
Retired but I typically burn off 20-40 miles a day. I have a Level 2 EVSE outside on it’s own 60 amp circuit, but most days I just pull into the garage and connect to the Level 1 charger as I exit the truck. Typically by the time I take the R1 back out the next day it is back to 70%. If I need...
My exact use case, including the TAS bed slider, so a couple questions on the Iceco unit: is the insulated cover an important option? Would any of the other candidates you considered have provided similar capabilities without the use of an addition insulator cover? Cover just seems like an extra...
As has been clarified in other threads, the V1.5 PTC (upgraded-stacking) nor the V2 PTC (newest rolling / small slats) impact the gear tunnel in any way… all use same space (above/outside the gear tunnel) as with the original V1 PTC.
I had similar situation and fixes on my G1 R1T - before it was totaled. My G2 R1T is still very early days… does it seem this is largely a G1 issue, or are there many G2 owners still requiring these repairs?
(Edit) And…
Is this typically seen as a one-time fix? Are redesigned retrofit parts...
Yeah… but also sounds like another opportunity for the Rivian name to be attached to something that is poorly rolled out (power tonneau, et al), or never delivered (camp kitchen, et al), or just badly delivered by the partner and therefore a disappointment to Rivian fans… and thereby tarnish the...
Great experience with Rivian (Nationwide) insurance, although mine may not be a typical case. If you want to see the whole story, it is HERE.
But insurance is never going to go down… only up. Especially given the expensive repairs for EVs and technology-focused vehicles.
Hitch mounted bed extender. Extends beyond the tailgate and helps support the load weight. Lots on the market… my particular one is the ‘T-Bone’ by Boondox. Here is a link to a company that carries it: T-Bone
I used it previously on my Ridgeline for short distance kayak hauls. I use it now on...
