  1. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

Based on your comment I checked this out… locked/unlocked… with/without PAAK… with keycard in place on the center console…no change with any of those attempts. Thanks.
  2. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

    1. No, no apparent misalignment. 2. Yes, have tried light push and pull and various ā€˜jiggling’. No change. 3. Once the vehicle has been asleep for awhile and I try to open the cover (from screen or bed-edge button) there is an almost imperceptible click… but not like a ā€˜jammed’ sound. 4. As...
  3. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

Just to clarify for discussion: What most of us reasonably would consider the Power Tonneau Cover (PTC) V3, Rivian refers to as V2 - the one with the small slats (which BTW does NOT take up any additional gear tunnel space). It is referred to as V2 on the order website. That is what Is on my...
  4. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

Extremely perfectionist PPF team with lots of Rivian experience, but sure, it is possible. They take high-def photos of every surface of every vehicle they work on PRIOR to doing anything and review any identified issues (chips, scratches, paint imperfections, etc.) with the manager (who then...
  5. Storage drawer in lieu of camp speaker

@JM. , just to be clear… My G2 came with the OEM drawer in lieu of camp speaker. The FRAME for the drawer locks and unlocks (allowing removal of entire assembly) whereas the DRAWER slides freely. Also note that the drawer front has about a 2/3 closed face, so it is not ā€˜sealed’ even if it could...
  6. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

(EDIT: SOLVED… tldr @onesoil, thanks SO MUCH!… the thread you referenced… noticed comments about ā€œno pauses between button pressesā€ā€¦ performing the calibration routine… Press-press-press-press and hold. Tried the tonneau reset again but pressing buttons as fast as I could. That worked...
  7. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

Yes, G1 (totaled)... now in a G2. I'm sure I will adapt to the new door release over time as well.
  8. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

Although I do like the new door latching mechanism(s) and did not notice any real downside to the loss of the ā€˜solid feel’ clunk when the door is closed, I actually agree regarding the location of new the door release button - it is not located in a particularly natural feel location for my...
  9. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

Oh, and another thing about my crash... Gear Guard video recorded everything... up to about 3 seconds before impact! Anyone seen that before? Obviously not an easy thing to test, but really disappointing that you can see the Silverado clearly approaching my truck... and then the video just stopped.
  10. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

Makes sense, of course. I will say the Spare Bumper manufacturer did do his due diligence and testing of his product, which I reviewed on his website... which was pretty convincing. But at best it only applies up to about 30 mph, and after that, well physics is physics, and everything you said...
  11. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

I'll check manufacture date on mine as soon as it comes back from glass tinting and PPF application. Our VINs are about 2900 units apart. But close to matching order/delivery dates, and exactly same issues, so sounds like the same assembly team may have worked on both our vehicles.
  12. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

Wow... when did you take delivery? Those two items are EXACTLY the two that I noted upon delivery this past Wednesday on my vehicle. Same Gear Tunnel Door with same issue, and more than barely audible squeaky sound on both rear door handles. When the door handles retract when you are inside the...
  13. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

The end caps on the tube of the Spare Bumper can be removed with a little effort and it seemed like a great place for emergency access tools, outside of the (locked) vehicle. I even found a small rechargeable jump box that could fit inside in a ziplock bag. Never needed to or got the chance to...
  14. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

To be clear and consistent with the earlier images, the shop and insurance feedback to me actually only alluded to a damaged frame being the final straw. I am unclear if it actually was bent/damaged or not… just that the insurance company said that when the total repair estimate passed $60K...
  15. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

Don’t think I’ve driven enough yet to determine (truck is currently in for glass tinting and PPFj. My G1 definitely had ā€˜clunking’ suspension from day one. When I became convinced on the G1 that it was absolutely ’not normal’ (thanks to lots of feedback on this forum) - about 8 months into...
  16. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

Yeah. I think I’m going to look into some type of (legal) auxiliary brake light for the rear of my new R1T, similar to what other users have done for roof top tents or bed covers. Other users here have described options on how to tap into the wiring. Ideally I’d like something (like I’ve seen on...
