That does look awesome! My understanding is that stealth PPF via Rivian uses highest level XPEL (? ‘Ultimate Plus’… unclear). Although it has a ‘10 year limited warranty’, a local installer (on Rivian’s post-delivery recommended installer list) says “you do not want to leave it on 10 years… it...
Appreciate the write up. Assume that is El Cap Granite color? I’m considering post-delivery stealth PPF on an El Cap R1T, but curious about how well the factory PPF stealth appears to be installed? Especially on top of the mirrors. Rivian apparently also partners with local tint/wrap shops for...
Also considering RTT cooling/heating options. As the OP mentioned, “…anyone who's compared this to one of the portable AC solutions like ZeroBreeze or EcoFlow…” Feedback would be helpful… Anyone?
Measurements provided by @chimerasaurus on his new Dune with V2 PTC:
…gear tunnel door ~17.6 in from bottom of opening to latch cover.
19 inches in center of tunnel. (in area between left and right latch covers)
Floor of gear tunnel (without any extra plastic mat) to lowest hanging item(s) protruding from the roof of the gear tunnel (assume box on each side containing door latches and gear tunnel lights.
Thanks!
@chimerasaurus responded on Reddit re: his new Dune V2PTC. Sounds like it is reasonably sturdy… Will be good to get further testing by owners:
“I haven’t tried standing on it but I did set groceries on it absolutely no problem today. It seems fairly solid to me.”
Good find, thanks. Does seem to maybe show some slight differences in roof area of gear tunnel, but perhaps not specifically related to the changed tonneau cover. Hard to tell from that Reddit video if there is any subtle change to the total volume or height/opening clearance.
My experience (on an R1T):
XPEL XR Plus Sunroof Tint; 2 Piece was $450 in Florida last January. But tinting on the windshield (XPEL XR Plus Window Film 70% @ $300j and side windows (XPEL XR Plus Window Film [ 20%F/70%R] @ $600) does more to reduce heat. In Florida it is just really not an option...
Interesting. Any chance you looked in the gear tunnel? @Riviot seems to have confirmed no documented V2PTC-related changes impacting the gear tunnel, but it would be nice to have a direct visual confirmation.
So… anyone actually take delivery of a V2 PTC equipped vehicle yet?! Anxious to hear some V2 tonneau cover feedback. I may have decisions to make soon…
Thanks
